  1. Surely that consideration has nothing to do with that same athlete having a sub-par season to say the very least...
  2. Three-member team formats got approved, once again. But there is a controversy around it. Apparently, out of the NFs who voted for 3-member teams, less than 10% have actually competed at the Olympics, while out of the NFs who voted for 4-member teams, 90% have competed at the Olympics. So you have a situation where an Olympic competition format is being decided by small federations, and they are pretty unanimously voting to have smaller teams (and thus more nations). Smaller nations overruling the big ones sounds fun in theory, but the thing is, most of those federations are not even putting a serious effort to build their teams. I guess they are just kind of hoping some individual from their nation would pop-up and benefit from this decision? Here is one detailed opinion on it. https://www.worldofshowjumping.com/en/News/FEI-General-Assembly-Food-for-thought.html
  3. I like Yara.
  4. Sailing results can be pretty random. As in, there are athletes who win a medal exactly once and out of nowhere (especially in the Laser classes). It could be about venue and/or specific atmosphere conditions being perfect for their styles. I guess you should wait and see if Andrulyte can repeat this, preferably outside of Oman.
  5. @hckošice Why is Slovakia not competing in the two-woman bobsleigh this year? It's a shame. Last year Cernanska and her crew were better than Ukraine, who will easily qualify for the Olympics now...
  8. Ashleigh Werner is presenting the sport of freestyle bobsleigh with this impressive rail grind! IOC better take notice! She never actually crashed here. Somehow her sled came back off the wall in time for the next corner. John Morgan never saw something like this so I guess that says it all.
  9. Well, not a great weekend of sliding for Italy. Andreutti crashed early on the track, only to have her sled come back in the middle of the kreisel of all places. Finished 7 secs off the pace, but probably won't be allowed to start the second heat.
  10. Well, another DC final for us.
  11. Margaglio crashed out today. A very rare occurrence in skeleton. Happens about once in four years.
  12. Jugovac osvojila par bodova jučer, ali zapravo izgubila dio prednosti nad prvom ispod crte. Ako i ispadne, mislim da postoji i dalje šansa za realokaciju. Ispred nje je recimo jedna Slovenka koja je skoro godinu dana bez ijednog nastupa.
  13. I wonder how were you able to follow the previous shooting formats then. One-by-one eliminations in shooting was pretty much an equivalent of a 100 m race where one athlete gets eliminated every 10 m, or a biathlon race where an athlete gets eliminated at every checkpoint. Tldr: the previous format was already nonsense masquerading under the pretense of "entertainment".
  14. At least the dumb one-by-one eliminations seem to be gone. Still, you know a sport is in a bad place when they have to change competition formats every couple of years.
  15. Apparently our biathlon power couple complained about frozen fingers on the second shooting in particular. Oh well. Not that I expected Crnković to go clean twice in a row. That would be insane.
  16. The "4th wave" (really just omicron) are causing new cancellations left and right on the equestrian circuit. Sadly most indoor events are not really feasible without spectators. Meanwhile, I am just baffled. Baffled. That some people are still counting "waves" in all this mess.
  17. I'm not convinced. The usual mode for them is to dominate right off the bat.
  18. Heard this version on the radio today and it actually sounded... tolerable? (as opposed to the original).
  19. Wow, both Johaug and JTB are seriously off-form.
  20. Why is Morton DNF'ing every race she enters? @heywoodu
  21. Tv time for Strolia!
  22. The Peng statement was a new low though. Far below anything they have done previously.
  23. The real chemist Olympics.
  24. Sport once again becomes victim of the Japanese xenophobia.
  25. Jugovac čeka natjecanja u Americi. Ovisit će o tome koliko natjecatelja bude, ali mislim da će ih biti manje nego što bi ih bilo u Europi.
