  1. Apparently Novax's visa got rejected upon an attempted entry. Not sure what happens now.
  2. Exactly. Pictures should be much more Wintery tomorrow.
  3. And the race is on for tomorrow! Projected start time is set at 13:00 CET.
  4. Temperature has dipped, and arguably, the piste looks better than yesterday. Would be pretty controversial if it got cancelled altogether...
  5. Aaand postponed to 15:45. Usually it's a bad sign...
  6. Apparently they have been arguing all morning with FIS about today's M SL. FIS wants to just give up, but the organizers are quite determined. As of right now, it looks like the men's race is a go. Curious how quickly the temperature will drop. There is a chance the later numbers in Run 1 will have much improved conditions.
  7. Unfortunately, there is a considerable chance that the race will get cancelled.
  8. Apparently the course got slightly better, but also got visually much worse overnight due to wind bringing even more leaves. Also, the rain is expected over the day before temperature starts to drop, so.... There's that. It's a shame since tomorrow brings some snow and temperatures well below zero...
  9. Lol, I swear the IOC youtube channel shared something about Crosby playing in Beijing like last week. Obviously that is not going to happen. Clueless.
  10. Not previous years. Literally last year. Stoch won the Four Hills, Kubacki was third, Zyla and Stekala were also in top 6. Insane.
  11. And I'm afraid they will just stay like this. It's a dry area so having natural snow come the Olympics would be a real miracle.
  12. 7th place for Leona is an amazing result but not entirely unexpected. The top 10 breakthrough came earlier than I expected, though. Also, she now has over 100 WC points for the season. Insane.
  13. Interesting to have that one spot being the only real problem on course. Like some vintage skiing race from the early Olympics.
  14. 7 degrees at Sljeme today, hence why the course looks more muddy than snowy. I guess the men's race will be held in impossible conditions tomorrow, but it should get colder in the evening tomorrow. Much colder. But the question is when exactly.
  15. I would have preferred that over a relatively weak Winter nation like Italy getting two Olympics in close proximity...
  16. Rast, Danioth, M. Melliard tested positive and therefore will not be starting tomorrow. Not sure if we could expect more Swiss names to join the non-starting list... Shiffrin will reportedly compete.
  17. Wolfgang Mueller Multiple championship medalist before GDR decided to pull the plug in dressage in order to fully focus on their new "sport strategy".
  18. Facebook? I remember it being the quickest source for BLR equestrian federation events, which was surprising since I thought FB is banned there.
  19. The problem with aerials is that it literally exists only in 13 nations. 12 of whom are provisionally qualified for Beijing. It's non-existant elsewhere. And no new nation has joined the circuit for years now. Either they can't join, or FIS is doing a criminally bad job in expanding the discipline. I think the last nation who tried to join was Brazil. They sent two former gymnasts to try to qualify for Sochi, and it ended so badly that one of them (or did both eventually?) ended up permanently paralysed following a training accident. It was disturbing, and honestly FIS should be held complicit. Rant ends.
  20. Surely the Dutch can't win the team pursuit with or without Bosker? USA are the favorites, right? If so, then Snel could and really should take them to court if they select Bosker...
  21. Friedrich is back on top, ahead of Brad Hall from GB, and another 6 different countries inside the Top 8. Far more competitive than aerials could ever offer.
  22. Sunny 13 degrees in Ravna Gora today. There is no snow on the ground. However, some snow is currently being forecast for Thu/Fri/Sat.
  23. Looks like someone partied last night? Friedrich got only 12th with two poor runs.
  24. Happy New Year (to the majority of Totallympians who entered now).
  25. Martin Haven did not have the exact info at the time, but yes, this is the first WC victory for Tomass Dukurs since February 2004. I mean, surely this is totally unheard of across all Winter sports...? https://www.ibsf.org/en/news/9-skeleton/22441-skeleton-athlete-tomass-dukurs-with-second-world-cup-victory-18-years-after-the-first
