  1. Okay, the "Exotic Nations Cup" is indeed Olympic qualification turned into pizza delivery routine. Exotic athletes who have relatively good FIS points are only slightly faster than , who will probably both qualify now. DNS'd so I guess that story is over.
  2. Chiara Mair probably ruined the Katharina x 4 Olympic team right here. New PB for Leona. Proves she can do it without the leaves!
  3. Apparently his first race since last March. I am actually more puzzled over Czech Republic apparently being eligible for the "Exotic Nations Cup".
  4. Jamaican Championships coming up tomorrow. Nice, if not suspicious looking start list. EDIT: Apparently the event is actually called "Malbun Exotic Nations Cup". This smells like the new Project Bogota from a mile away.
  5. Europeans are coming up this week... And if they are any indication, we will witness a huge wave of withdrawals as athletes prepare to leave for Beijing. Timeline since Friday (January 7th) McAllister positive and out Entire Israeli team out due to a positive test (6 athletes in total) Sauter positive and out Jones / Boyadji positive and out Pfund / Santillan positive and out Polibina / Golovishnikov positive and out Papadakis / Cizeron have withdrawn earlier as a precaution.
  6. This tweet lol "Should reporters behave like this?" What, just because they are reporters they are not allowed to have their own opinion during a casual conversation?
  7. Algeria better get their act together or else I will blame @bestmen.
  8. Well, the streak continues.
  9. CAS however has a unit working to quickly resolve cases before the Olympics. This mostly regards appeals on Olympic qualification or selection. But I am not familiar with exact requirements needed to present this kind of case on CAS.
  10. I guess the most challenging part is finding a lawyer to quickly prepare the case. Like within a day or two.
  11. How does that even work? Isn't Bruna registered independently (like Picin was in Finland/Lithuania)?
  12. Damn, FIL is quick. I assume the quota came from GB.
  13. FIS will have to start cutting max quota per event. Still having 4 per nation is extremely generous compared to, well, any other Olympic federation at this point.
  14. Also, who told you about the races being cancelled? Is it the federation people?
  15. Maybe you should try the Facebook? Or try contacting one of the home skiers (for example, Tena Hadžić)?
  16. Malinin can apparently land 4T+4T (!!) in practice. USFS are crazy. Everyone on the board should get fired.
  17. @heywoodu Looks like they are prepping the course in Ravna Gora. https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=427777005800577&id=100057048447052
  18. Ghana, an outside chance, but could increase if they plan to fix results at this week's Championships (in which case those nations would qualify too for sure).
  19. Wow, Shannon Galea will compete in St. Moritz this week. Unique chance to see a run 10 seconds slower than the leading ones.
  21. Moreover since Ocala is rapidly becoming the equestrian hotspot of the USA. Apparently it is the only place with some hills on Florida hence why eventing spread there.
  22. Big drama in the men's singles. 17 year old Ilia Malinin finished ahead of two selection favorites - Jason Brown and Vincent Zhou. There is a chance however that he gets dismissed by the selection committee in favor of those two, what would of course cause a big controversy. Perhaps big enough for him to immediately switch nationalities to Uzbekistan (he is the son of one Tatiana Malinina)?
  23. Rumour has it we will withdraw from the team event (again). While we are not exactly medal favorites, this is still one of literally two events where a medal is possible for us. Especially since we would face the United States in the first round. They rarely excel at this event and definitely appear beatable. Just another shameful decision by our ski federation.
  24. This will fly under the radar, but Artur Dmitriev made a valiant attempt at quad axel at the U.S. Nationals. Would have been so random had he succeeded and become the very first person to do it in competition.
  25. "The Monobob Series may have a lower number of races taken into consideration." Interestingly, it's not specified precisely in the document, but both commentators and IBSF rankings are making it clear that best 5 results are to count. https://www.ibsf.org/images/documents/downloads/OWG_-_YOG/Beijing_2022_-_Qualification_System_-_Bobsleigh_V1.6.pdf
