Qualification Tracker

Test

Everything posted by dcro

  1. That's when the drama starts. Nations will be accepting/declining quotas in real time, from what I can remember from before Pyeongchang.
  2. And the Cypriot girls failed. Well, I praise them for trying to qualify fairly, and not cheating like some did. They collected a multitude of DNFs which suggest their level perhaps is not Olympics-worthy.
  3. Nizozemci službeno nisu zadovoljili uvjete za nastup. Sad smo na čekanju. Mislim da bi se sve realokacije trebale dogoditi kroz sljedeći tjedan.
  4. Kibermanis wins the last race of the season, but don't read too much into it, the Latvians are always good in St. Moritz. De Bruin placed 16th, for what it's worth, he failed to meet the Dutch NOC requirements.
  5. Mario Matt went from 30th to win, also in Wengen, but in alpine combined.
  6. Henrik loses it.
  7. It's relative, but Rodeš lost 1 sec in 12 seconds earlier today, so nothing can surprise me.
  8. Some are already tipping Georgia for a figure skating team event medal. While Top 5 is probably more likely than Top 3, they can still create a surprise. It will also depend if some of the chanceless mid-tier teams decide to spare their best individuals for individual events.
  9. Australia has a definite chance in monobob. 4 podiums in 6 WCs this year.
  10. One of the Norwegians is long retired. That reallocation will happen and will move us once again to the first reserve spot. For the second one... Either Switzerland would have to decline a reallocation, or the Canadian Sommer Gendron is not getting selected (since she hasn't competed since March... of 2020).
  11. Bleh. Women's competition is so boring with all those Moscovites changing nationalities and taking easy way out: Kurakova, Ryabova, Safonova, Gubanova
  12. Vidović tested positive and will not be starting tomorrow. Should recover before leaving to Beijing... provided he gets selected first.
  13. That's also the last hope for Cypriot women this time. Photiades is just outside (164 avg), and needs 136 or so tomorrow to qualify. Unlikely.
  14. Correct. Meanwhile, from which hole did Matej Kazar crawl out of to shoot 10/10 today? Is he trying to steal someone's spot in the Slovak relay? @hckošice
  16. That's a total score of TES + PCS. PCS is the artistic part, which Semenenko for example improved whilst having a dumpster fire performance.
  17. His claims would have had more legitimacy if he had some competition on the African continent. At least two other countries. But doesn't seem like he did much to develop the sport in Africa following the continent's debut in Pyeongchang.
  18. Let's get a reality check here. Frimpong is the one creating havoc here, via tabloids, because... they are not letting him go to the Olympic for free like they (accidentally) did four years ago? And even if IBSF/IOC got drunk and changed it, what kind of dangerous precedent would that set? Give every athlete free quota forever?
  19. Kondratiuk got 90.02 PCS -- along with Kovalev's 87.78, and Semenenko's 85.44. All beating their previous PBs which were 81.30, 80.72, and 81.94. Enough said. Non-Russian skaters can only dream of improving their PBs by such margins.
  20. Medal for Vasiljevs. There is hope yet, but still Grassl should have won, and not that Russian who thinks himself to be Jesus.
  21. Are they doing the same for bobsleigh?
  22. Blatant pro-Russian judging as ever. If you are a Russian, you will get positive GOE even with obvious mistakes.
  23. Looks like FIS read this and deported him out of Lebanon. Seriously though, why travel all the way to Lebanon and then leave before the race program is over? https://www.fis-ski.com/DB/general/results.html?sectorcode=CC&raceid=39569
  24. Out of curiosity, how are the Dutch (for some) not huge favorites for both team pursuits? The Americans set their WR in SLC and against Dutch B/C team. That definitely doesn't make them gold medal favorites.
