  1. If this was some other nation but France, the UN would already be making new resolutions regarding colonies.
  2. LOL. It's as if the ISU made a special 9-member team rule for the Netherlands and for the Netherlands only.
  3. Individual and relay are the main biathlon events imo... And therefore should get maximum exposure. Sprint is just a "TV-friendly" individual, while pursuit seemed to have been a stepping stone in the creation of the mass start. It serves no purpose anymore and should be removed from every non-exhibition event. Also, wouldn't it be nice if the Olympics only (due to a limited number of qualifiers), had a mass start with 85 starters? A special range would be needed, but so be it.
  4. Some random news, but curiously the name of the Korean rider is "Hyun Woo Do". So close to @heywoodu. https://www.eurodressage.com/2021/12/13/german-grand-prix-horse-duisenberg-sold-korea
  5. Nef out at gate first, Vinatzer out at gate last. Equals first slalom podium for Zubo.
  6. Well, they all had sloppy runs. Pinturault entered a vertical on the opposite side.
  7. This explains his most fabulous celebration.
  8. It's what you get when you qualify via wild card. And IHF wild cards are known to have... shady reputation.
  9. This is not even a gender-equal mixed team event! A definitive proof that the IOC will accept just about anything just to keep the hosts happy. As if the privilege to host is not enough by itself.
  10. Zubčić DNF? When was the last time that even happened?
  11. He pulled the (in)famous Yvonne Nauta 5000 feat. Most likely he just decided to sprint and hope he survives to make the Olympics.
  12. I know right? It's like he is skating on quads.
  13. Lollobrigida for the win?
  14. Is Marek Kania related to Karin Enke?
  15. Austin Florian is having... an interesting season. He is clearly in an excellent form, probably best ever, but he is also having some loose runs. Just google his Altenberg crash. It's a miracle he didn't lose his arm there.
  16. We lost to Japan. At least with flop, hopefully, they will no longer be called "Queens of Shock". What a painfully bad nickname that is.
  17. Yeah, wrestling got provisionally excluded, but nothing else got included in its place. This is a completely different situation. No more than one sport will return.
  18. It should be noted that weightlifting had 24 medalling nations in Tokyo, while boxing had 25. The list of nations included the likes of . Surfing, and especially skaterboarding, are not exactly... diverse. Although diversity only really counts in certain situations. Anyways, I am not exactly sad for boxing/weightlifting (for IOC/AIBA and IWF, rather), but still I don't see these sports as deserving replacements. It's not like the universality was only lacking in medals, it was also very much lacking in participation.
  19. So I guess perspective hosts should get their colonies first. And quickly.
  20. UIPM did everything right to get blacklisted.
  21. Our first ever speed skating Olympian. Also our first skating Olympian since 2006. But even in this scenario, we end up being the first reserve in another event (W 1500 m), because of course.
  22. Rio 2016 Olympian Julie Brougham https://www.eurodressage.com/2021/12/09/julie-brougham-passed-away
