Canada keeps racking up the minor medals, but can't buy a gold. Two throws in a row in hammer drop them down to 3rd and 4th.

Apologies for my outbursts, the Englishwoman would have won regardless. But when even the biased English commentators are calling bullshit on the calls and the ref is giddy with his decisions, it gets annoying. Just play the game. After watching other matches, it's not the sport itself keeping it out of the Olympics, it's the officiating. Unfortunate. Congrats to England on the gold! Good job Canada on the surprise silver!

I'm not going to pretend that I know the rules, but the announcers have been rooting for the Englishwoman, and they were in strong disagreement on a few calls that went against the Canadian. Edit: And another "interesting" call. Hope this isn't the new boxing where the winner is chosen before the match.

I feel like this is a warning like how wrestling was taken off the programme for a brief moment a few years back. Faster Higher Stronger. If breakdancing is in there and weightlifting is not, this old man will riot.

Honestly, got into watching weightlifting in Tokyo and have enjoyed it here, too. Great sport to watch. Full of strategy and explosive athleticism. Lots of fun!

They have to be economical with their letters these days. It's all they have left. Note: I've been to Sri Lanka and I'm not trying to mock it. It is absolutely beautiful, and the people are incredibly friendly. I recommend it to anyone, at least when things calm down. It sucks what they're going through, they deserve better.

Canada DSQ in medley relay final, no explanation given yet. Not even sure why the did the heats, they only had 8 teams going. Others pulled out, I'm sure they gave enough time so they could have skipped the heats anyway.
