  1. Just had a look and discovered: In 2012, Canada made 7 finals in the pool. 2 medals, 4 top-5's. In 2016, after just 2 days (including finals being held tomorrow) Canada has already qualified for 7 finals in the pool. 2 medals, 4 top-5's. Also, Oleksiak is the first Canadian to win multiple medals at a SOG since van Koeverden in 2004. And I think she has three more races to go!
  2. Just glancing at the schedule, we have rugby semis and medals and some swimmers in finals already. Then there's basketball, and if rowing is a go we have some crews there. Bouchard in tennis. And who knows what other heros will emerge in other events
  3. Thank you for the encouragement. It means a lot from an Aussie, haha.
  4. Welcome! Yes, Canadian women (and some men!) are doing very well in the pool. The best part is most of them are still in high school, so the future is looking bright for our program after decades of despair.
  5. Yes, just for the summer. Then to China. I was going to return a week ago, but decided the time zone was better here for the Olympics so I pushed some things back. haha.
  6. Oleksiak. A star is born. She's only 16! I'm on a GO Train and probably looked like a madman during that race.
  7. Oh my god! Another swimming medal!
  8. Holy Moly! Complete domination. Beating the USA is as good as gold for us Canadians.
  9. Phew. Close one in rugby. But job done. Canada also doing well against the evil Americans in volleyball.
  10. Really disappointed in diving. I actually expected them to get silver, maybe even challenge for gold if the Chinese were off their game (they were not).
  11. Disappointment. I really expected a medal here. Fourth, Canada's favourite position. Huge disappointment for Canada.
  12. Pam can't seem to keep up with Jenn.
  13. Our Canadian has already beaten the 3rd and 4th seeds today.
  14. Yeah, honestly maybe that's what they were going for (the side with Aus instead of NZ). But there's also a very good chance that they play GB for bronze again. And judging by this afternoon, that's not going to be pretty. Go Fiji!
  15. Well, step one complete!
  16. If Canada's game against GB in rugby just now is any indication, I seriously doubt their ability to get a medal. That was one of, if not the worst game, I've seen any team play here. In other games a weak team is outmatched. But here, Canada was just terrible. Hope they get it together to at least get to the semis.
  17. Seriously....Brazil and Japan played better against Canada than Canada is playing against GB. Judging from this game, I'd say our hopes for a medal are dashed.
  18. My god, are they trying to lose?
  19. Canada looks terrible.
  20. Canada looks bad this first half.
  21. The British announcer is totally anti-Bouchard. He basically cheered his opponent in the last two bouts, and complained about everything the Canadian did. Relax dude, did Bouchard sleep with your wife or something?
  22. And now we root for the Slovenian in the next match.
  23. Yes. He needs to be more careful in the future.
