  1. Oh never mind, my bad.
  2. Well, the weather looks bad, but at least the water looks calm finally.
  3. Ah, thanks.
  4. Where did you find this out? The Olympic site doesn't have the exact draws posted yet. The lucky loser games are still going on.
  5. Of course. Well, the good news is that we are sure to have a Canadian team in the quarters.
  6. Looking at the schedule for tomorrow, it could be a big day for Canada. Medal chances in the race walk, 200m backstroke, trampoline, rowing (2x) and the bronze medal match in tennis. Not to mention quarters in soccer and beach volleyball for both our teams, the first half of the heptathlon and 3m diving prelims. And of course lots more. Big day. Hope this gold inspires all of them.
  7. GOLD! Penny is a superstar.
  8. First gold for Canada in swimming since 1992 (and CBC now has our last one talking, Mark Tewksburry). First Canadian to win 4 medals at a single Summer Olympics. And she's only 16. Canada now has a superstar!
  9. I will when I rewatch this race a dozen times before going to bed tonight.
  10. And yet again CBC screwed up the call. Calling Oleksiak "Overholt" over the last lap.
  11. What a finish by Penny, like a missle in the last 25m.
  12. God damn it USA, can't you let us have anything for ourselves?
  13. OH MY GOD! If this is a dream, don't wake me up!
  14. I like the Dutch (I lived in Amsterdam for a while, hence my user name, yes I know it's spelt differently, there's more to the story). I wish her a very strong race. Right behind Penny.
  15. Ok, whatever. Here comes the real race. GO PENNY!
  16. I think they're pretty pissed at themselves because it was such a historic race, and their call will always be screwed up. Not going to be able to replay it in the future. Whoops!
  17. LOL, CBC guys mixed up Phelps and Lochte. "PHELPS MIGHT NOT EVEN MEDAL!" "Oh...I apologize...I mixed up the lanes".
  18. I hope the Brazilian beats both of them!
  19. Our women continue to fly out there. Caldwell qualifies second for the final, first among mere mortals.
  20. Despite the shock win over the USA, Canada will still likely need to win against both Mexico and Italy to make it to the quarters. Tough road. Tough group. Maybe just a win against Mexico will be enough...strange results so far make it unsure.
  21. Congratulations. Canada came out strong, but made some errors which cost them. Close call in the first set could have changed things, but oh well. Not saying it was the wrong call, just saying it was oh so close.
  22. There were some close calls at crucial points in the game, with the calls going Spain's way. As I said, there were no replays so I'm not sure if the wrong call was made. But at least one of them looked to be ridiculous and right in front of the ump. I would like to see replays, but can't seem to find them. Oh well, hopefully they can refocus for the bronze game tomorrow.
  23. Nestor says in 25 years of tennis, this was the worst judged game he's ever had. Not happy.
  24. Well now it seems like the best they'll do is bronze. GB looks unbeatable (again).
  25. Great result for Ellie Black from Canada! Just a third of a point off the podium!
