  1. already second time that Nemes wins against a croatian not in a "clean" way in a very short period. (Zugaj at ECH) I hope Starcevic will have one more chance. He is fighting for Bronze here. Let see what our team can do in Ulan Bator and actually who will be there. Yes Ude is thorugh, nothing can happen to him. I hope Derek will make it too.
  2. what a disaster week for us so far: - boxing: i did not really expect too much, but 3 losses in first round is really bad. Marsic and Babic at least got to 1/4 finals - Table tennis: without qualification, ok gacina will qualify, but only 1 player in Rio is really dissapointing, and i dont think we have a chance via ranking, unless one of them wins some tournament until end of april, but i think it is only 1 left - wrestling: ettlinger few seconds away from Rio, starcevic very close against nemes, and zugaj lost again, Lets hope at least Ude and Derek do better
  3. our wrestlers, really dont know what to say
  4. All our table tennis players will have a chance tomorrow again. But for ladies there will be only 3 quotas and 56 players. For men 2-4 quotas and also 56 players Dodig, yes if he in Top Ten he can choose his partner and they will be qualified to the tournament, independent of the ranking of his partner. Actually i think he might play rather with Draganja. Hopefully not with Cilic. With Cilic he would be safe as well (independent of top ten ranking)
  5. according to this document solja and han are qualified, but i guess the final word is with german federation http://www.ittf.com//Ol_Qual/2016EU/2016%20EOSQ%20Annex%201.pdf and i giess we have tomorrow 3 quotas available
  6. if my post above is correct than almost 100%
  7. i think you will have at least one guy
  8. Table Tennis: Tan was really close to a win against Appolonia. Really a pity, would have helped him in ranking as well. Bad luck, lets see what happens tomorrow. Primorac and the ladies out as expected. Gacina is in the final, but who cares. Actually it would be better he looses, the German will not get quota anyway (Boll will have it and Ovtcahrov), which means there is one more quota for tomorrow. Wrestling: Very interesting nomination. As expected in 66kg Etlinger, 85kg Zugaj, 130kg Lavric But surprises in 59kg (Ivan Loncaric) and 75kg Starcevic. I did not expect they will dare not to nominate the other Zugaj brother. And who is Loncaric, never heard before. Draw for Loncaric: first round Moldova, and then probably Russia Draw for Etlinger: first AZE then TUR /LTU,
  9. Is my assumption correct: Actually all Teams (12) as it looks will have 2 players already qualified for singles. To fill up teams there will be 12 athletes additonally needed, but there are 22 quota available. It means actually there will be 32 athletes qualifying via Ranking. Is that correct or do i misunderstand something completly
  10. Really bad draw for our table tennis team, even with a good draw it would have been almost impossible, but now for sure it is (excluding Gacina) But even Gacina has a tough draw: First round should be ok, Kosiba (HUN) No. 120 Second round probably Lebesson (FRA) No. 58 But then in the crucial match it will be probably Steger (GER) No. 35 (or maybe Kreanga (GRE)) Tan does not have a easy draw, but that was clear, in first round it is Habesohn (AUT) No 82 and then Apolonia (POR) No 20 Primorac in the first round against M.Karlsson (SWE) No.38 and after that i think it is time to retire for him The ladies without even small chances: Tian Yuan in first round against SHAO (POR) No. 58 who lost yesterday to Rakovec, but in 2 nd would wait the best European Han (GER) no 9 in the world. Rakovec against Hu (TUR) No 21 and Tubikanec against YU (POR) no. 41.
  11. European QT draw main round 1st stage men http://www.ittf.com//Ol_Qual/2016EU/MEN_1st_STAGE.pdf women http://www.ittf.com//Ol_Qual/2016EU/WOMEN_1st_STAGE.pdf
  12. Marsic out in the Quarterfinals http://www.boks-savez.hr/hbs/oi-kvalifikacije-viceprvkinja-europe-zaustavila-marsic/ Actually how does it work with the quota at the WCH. What if someone who won the quota at the ECH is among top 4?
  13. Bad news for Zlatko Kumric. After the continental championship in Oceania and Africa there were a lot of changes in the judo rankings. He lost his continental quota due to big step forward for a australian guy. Now european continental quota currently is going to hungary and great britain. Somehow stupid that an australian guy by just winning two matches (against nzl and fiji) earns 400 points Kumric needs a very good result at th upcoming European Championship, same as Miskovic, And Matic is now also under danger to loose at least her autmoatic qualification, and then she would block the continental quota for the others two. There are two more tournaments in May (AZE and KAZ), but crotian judoka are not registered for that two yet. If not our federation is crazy
  14. It seems he does not go against Jakoubowski, but the French at least according to the schedule
  15. Negative surprise was Primorac with 0-4 against Serbian guy. Tian Yuan as expected no chance against Pavlovich (BLR). Tubikanec probably will have her important match tomorrow to reach main round. Very positive surprise is Rakovec. The portuguese is number 17 here in the ranking. I watch Tan and he looks quite good so far. Both games were absolutly easy wins.
  16. Easy win for Ruiwu Tan against Rasmussen (DEN) 4-0
  17. You are right. Gacina is qualified as there is only few weeks left unitl the ranking will be applied. Considering the fact that majority of Asian players will qualify through their local tournament he will be among 20 top players. The others have the chance only here and it will be very hard. I would be very surprised if they manage. I somehow hope for Primorac because it would be his 8th Olympic Games. We could end up only with one player in Rio.
  18. Zoran Primorac wins his first match at the Table Tennis EQ gainst Udra (LIT) 4-3. Surprisingly close match as Udra is only number 320 in the ranking. That should be enough to advance to the main round (R64). He still plays gainst Gorak (POL) and Peto (SRB). Best 3 advance to the main round, but ranking in the group is important to avoid good players in the main round. Tan Ruiwu plays against Golovanov (BUL), Rasmussen (DEN) and Pattantyus (HUN). Gacina is already qualified for the main round. He is probably anway save for Olympics and will qualify via ranking if he does not manage here. Ladies: Rakovac play against Shao (POR) and Toliou (GRE) Tian plays against Pavlovich (BLR) and Stuckyte (LIT). According to my understanding they are both already safe for the main round as in group of 3 players, it is only about better starting position. Tubikanec plays against Piccolin (ITA), Strbikova (CZE), Eerland (NED).
  19. draw european qualification tournament men http://www.ittf.com/competitions/test/_groups_matches_1.asp?Event_Type=MSP&Competition_ID=2631&rnd= women http://www.ittf.com/competitions/test/_groups_matches_1.asp?Event_Type=WSP&Competition_ID=2631&rnd=
  20. croatia wins easily, and the scandinavians did not suceed with their arranging
  21. both boxers today lost, komadina and platnic so we are left only with babic and the lady of course
  22. This is really a joke, but I guess that was the idea. Still will not be enough
  23. obviosuly they are targeting to be in the top 7 non qualified teams, which would mean a quota, but honestly i doubt it, as you said the team is too weak and there are too many european nations still without quota
  24. our team for the fencing european qualification in Prague: Ivan Komsic (f) Ivan Lovric (e) Josip Brajdic (s) Marcela Dajcic (f) Toncica Topic (e)
  25. Yes it is his son. He won the croatian championship recently. That justifis it, but of course I don't know if it was fair fight. I personally think our best chance is in 91kg.
