  1. The BBC are implying the Judges are biased towards the Japanese.
  2. First time since 1980 no Americans race in the final (through of course their 2000 runner has since been DQ). In terms of having entrants in the event it’s the first time since 1948.
  3. It’s not. It’s suddenly all about Neita and winding up Michael Johnson about the fact no Americans have made it.
  4. The BBC have virtually given up on her already. There all smiling instead about Neita and how it’s the first time since Beijing a British women has made it. The BBC will struggle through once British press start tearing into the Athletics team.
  5. Yet the international hype for the race seems near non existent outside of Athetics fans.
  6. I doubt their want to break that themselves. It raise a lot of questions.
  7. Laura Muir feels only possible individual medal GB is getting on the track with Dina in shit form. GB Athletics is going to be in massive Shit and will get funding cut in a sport that is so hard to really improve from one games to another.

  10. I think with Athletics it was decided to catch up on them a bit later as that is a bit quicker.
  11. The BBC do not have the rights to air more than two events at once - the deal their did with Discovery to keep rights for 2022 and 2024 (As discovery was talking about setting up their own freeview Channel) have prevented that.
  12. Great results in the Mixed events. Athletics looks a total disaster and I think the aftermath there will make the Rowing aftermath look tame.
  13. Canada is the opposite of GB. GB’s men are noticeably better than the women while Canada is the opposite.
  14. It wouldn’t work now a days because the majority of people would see the result on social media even if the broadcast media totally ignored it.
  15. Have any other broadcasters shown interviews during the race. The BBC has just interviewed Leamouth after her leg was completed.
  16. Yet NBC News app send news alerts announcing high profile victories not being shown live.
  17. The BBC highlights show points out the issue also occurred during the second heat and it affected Brazil in that race.
  18. Probably just the pundit’s opinion. I can’t remember what he said about podium protests and the controversy regarding Sun Yang in 2019 and Effimova and Herasimenia in 2016.
  19. On the BBC daily highlights show just now they ignored that Greenbank chirped up about doping, giving the impression only Murphy commented on the issue but then defended Rylov by saying he has been at the top of field since Rio and said that while it looked like Murphy was not directly accusing Rylov (that’s a stretch) he was still being unfair on him,
  20. Not sure they would. In the UK Jess Varnish got direct funding from UK Cycling - in the USA athletes are not paid by the governing bodies ,
  21. I met him once back around the time he was undertaking legal action against the BOA. He was quite friendly.
  22. That only happened as he admitted to the BBC what date he started using the drug - he still has his medals from the 1999 Worlds and 2001 Goodwill games as he claims he didn’t start using it till 2002. When he was initially banned he didn’t lose his 2002 results as he told the IAFF nothing about his 2002 use. Very few athletes admit to when they started doping.
