  1. I thought the open water team was separate to the 30 limit. In which cause he does take a place in that 30 if selected.
  2. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-68733267 Paris 2024: Russia seeking to undermine Games, says Emmanuel Macron
  3. I think that would be too difficult for 2026 but could work for 2030 with the UK coordinating things and hosting adapted ceremonies as capital of ths Commonwealth and the middle of Time. Could also host the Athletics in the UK.
  4. Imagine if the relay misses out by a tiny amount.
  5. Will be very disappointing to miss the medley relay,
  6. She should be favourite for the Euro juniors.
  7. That’s one extra place people thought might have been filled.
  8. Would she be commentating if she was planning to be racing in a few days?
  9. I’m not sure they going to be taking relay reserves.
  10. Freya Anderson therefore effectively confirmed as not going then.
  11. At Rio and Tokyo Russians being absent would have given a few more medals but this time arrond it’s only Men’s gymnastics team where they absence helps .
  12. Maybe in 2028/2032 the 200 fly can be strong as well.
  13. And that’s where the 30 limit goes into cost cutting territory rather than raising standards.
  14. Plus a few months to the games. If one of the top 4x200m guys had to withdraw from Paris it’s likely they would try and keep the relay spot with the next in line.
  15. Wilby has more to his case in terms of prior experience of making numerous major finals and being Peaty’a relay backup. If they don’t take him then Peaty will surely have to do the relay heats That doesn’t fit a focus on relays as good medal opportunities.
  16. I think he seems to be fully aware the selectors are not really considering cases like him,
  17. You can tell that the selectors have already told atheltes they is no discretionary place. Kieran Bird looked like someone who knows he only be in Paris as a spectator. Think Wilby might also miss out if they have enough confirmed and will they take Stephens if they do need to cut further (Or would like less in general).
  18. Going by Bird’s interview I don’t think he thinks he will be considered.
  19. It is a hard decision because if she doesn’t perform in the relay someone will feel justified in being very annoyed. That’s the big issue with having a set number. No room to mitigate the risk from gambles.
  20. And I think that’s why they won’t do it. Anderson will be told sorry but that’s the rules.
  21. I hope she doesn’t just miss out like Kierian Bird has done.
