  1. I wonder if the BBC will mention on air the relay issues as the champs go ahead or it won’t be apparent till they quietly reject a few quotas.
  2. The mixed relay will set the tone for the tram. Medal and I think it will be a good games. Don’t and it could be an epic faluire. . The London Diamond League coverage will be non stop chat about selection issues for Paris I suspect. We all know the BBC does not like any policy that reduces the number of Brits competing because more Brits - more ratings. A lot of people only want to watch Brits competing.
  3. I wonder what the chances he become a Guy Leamouth and goes to the press when they reject a world ranking.
  4. I imagine they would simply send the quota back.
  5. I didn’t think they was any GB people even attempting to qualify.
  6. It’s quite poor not to. Short term injuries and short illness happen all the time. I mean what would happen if norovirus swept through the championships.
  7. That’s very sad. I wouidnt rule her out competing through as many athletes do choose to compete under such circumstances
  8. They might be fine but i am not sure they realise just how much the BBC will go on about it - the world indoor athletics set the tone for now I think the whole games will be built up to.
  9. It depends on how many others miss out on selection because British Swimming want to cut the numbers .
  10. I doubt they will. They will probably just withdraw from those relays because of the backlash.
  11. Very sad news. I don’t think the optics will be good if all the women relay quotas are sent back through.
  12. What happens if the USA blocks a team from entering. What would FIFA do. Must be serious chance if Trump is president he won’t let in Iran or Palestine.
  13. What is the IOC’s view on what happens if a Trump led government Bans China and Cuba from competing?
  14. Will be brave to miss the opening women’s relay and on a night with relatively little other British swimming there. Just gives the BBC a nice open goal to start off with a lot of talk about reducing squad numbers one a night where swimming is going to be main focus of the coverage.
  15. It’s not that much bigger than 1990 when they hosted it.
  16. I wonder if India will want a mini one without the big sports but taking the lesser sports which they good at alongside those not in the Olympics. They were doing so before Birmingham..
  17. I think to prevent disputes she will have to reach the BST rather than being just outside.
  18. The Olympic team will be selected in May according to Max Whitlock.
  19. https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/26795592/team-gb-paris-2024-olympics-jessica-jennifer-gadirova/
  20. The opposition are fully backing the games so I don’t think they would cancel it if they win.
  21. I’m sure Saudi Arabia will step in for a December Olympics if it does get cancelled More likely I suspect they will ask the IOC to cut sports and venues.
  22. And I think that would be a major major blow. 2022 was already outside of curling a big step back and while results in other sports have been promising since and showing sevreal medal potentials Curling going so far backwards would be a big issue. Particularly as it takes up so much broadcast time and with the games in Italy they will be more focus.
