UPDATE :
IAAF send today to our Athletics federation an apology letter. Apparently from what they wrote by some dumb mistake they somehow forgot our 100m Hurdles runner Stanislava Škvarková (ex Lajčáková) she and another runner were the last two athletes to complete the starting list of the 100m Hurdles but by mistake in the system they somehow they didn´t see them on their files Now they officially invited Stanislava to Dauha to compete in the 100m Hurdles
So Team will have 6 athletes including
Stanislava Škvarková (Lajčáková) (100m Hurdles)
We also got two more! Diana Mezulianikova in 800m and Eliska Stankova in discus. Especially happy for Eliska- first championship at the age of 34 Unfortunately two more who were invited, Cervenkova in shot put and Sekanova in steeplechase couldn't come due to injuries.

Thanks. Well, then I'll hope my Dutch VPN works well I don't think my family in law is going to appreciate it very much if I refuse going there half the time because I want to watch athletics
@wumo26 It should work on your laptop, but not on your phone as the app uses location services (Tried in Korea/America).

There’s going to be a World Cup Mixed Relay in Canmore next March. Imagine Johaug and Klaebo in the same team. Yikes

This is so sad to see... I used to go skiing there as a child. The ski hill was right next to the ski jumping one, was totally intact.

Sport invented in the nation: there are some minor, but only one that somehow succeeded to gain some importance also abroad
football tennis (futnet) - Czechoslovakia
National sport:
Ice Hockey (CZE and SVK) followed by football
Most successful olympic sport of the country:
W Artistic Gymnastics - Czechoslovakia
Athletics & Shooting - Czech Republic
Canoeing Slalom - Slovakia
Sounds about right ^
I went to an English-speaking private school and there was great confusion as to what to call our nohejbal program.

Where can one find lists for qualification rankings for 2019 (top 3 from each nation only)? Many Czech athletes are relying on ranking to make it through.

@ahjfcshfghb why have you entered Hejnova and Vondrova in their "wrong" events? (And Maslak in 200?)
Don't be so sure you'll go down, Ukraine have entered a pretty weak team too, especially on the men's side, and Italy do have weaknesses. We don't know about Sweden yet.
Ukrainian team: http://uaf.org.ua/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=14518:sklad-zbirnoi-ukrainy-na-komandnyi-chempionat-yevropy-2019&catid=40:uanews
Vondrova/Hejnova is what I’m shocked about. Ha. Maybe the website is wrong? Maslak though is focusing on 200m this season.
The bottom 5 teams go down so we’re doomed.

Proud of our girls... played much better than the European Championships. It’s ridiculous there are only 6 teams to begin with.

There’s rumors that Hawaii and (I may be wrong here) Christmas Island May also be exploring joining the games.
I think the PGC wanted to invite Christmas Island but due to the distance there isn’t any interest.

Syria really got screwed over here. They have to travel to three Far East countries and the remote Maldives.
Also, Saudi vs Yemen? Really?

Ha. I was behind the Pitcairn Islands one. All I did though was send a few emails to their government and the PGC asking about the possibility (in theory). Far as I know they do have young people who could compete in some sports (on-island and off) and they seemed interested when I talked to them. However, haven’t heard from them lately and I’m not sure they’ll end up applying. It’s hard to keep up a correspondence on Pitcairn, even though email.

If I am not mistaken, max 2 per nation rule was introduced after the Japanese clean sweep at the 1932 Olympics.
Oh wow. I guess I assumed it would be the same as athletics. Thanks!

It's weird how they're only 2 swimmers per country. Is that a new rule change? Awful deal for the USA, Australia...

Im surprised CONCACAF approved this, especially since a Canadian heads the organization. I'd imagine Canada would be on the bubble there.
I think it was a big Caribbean voting bloc. They know they won't qualify and get to play waay more matches.

I thought Tuvalu had improved some more. They were good at the Mini Games. I was so wrong.

Right, but @heywoodu would agree with me that it’s not official until the complete an event officially. What I mean about being an observer here is that we could see a and situation like at the 2017 Asian Winter Games, where the athletes weren’t eligible for medals and thus didn’t officially participate. I think your right though, I think we’ll see them in the longer distances.
Fair enough! I’ll just base it off their full approval for 2021.

So I’m not sure if they’re so much competing as just there to witness this time and enter next time. I would leave them on the list until their athletes are counted in the official results. They are sending 4 distance runners, so there is the possibility that happens at these games. However, it almost sounds like a 100% done deal that we will see them in Oran in 2021 for the Mediterranean Games. I would imagine we may see them make their way to the 2023 European Games too. I’m glad that the Vatican has finally decided that it can field athletes.
That’s true, though I can’t see why they’d be left out of results if they were invited. The athletes will definitely compete. Plus they are going to be granted full ‘membership’ rights in 2021 apparently. That’s good enough for me honestly

Ya, in hindsight South Korea naturalizing half a dozen player was a really good idea. Not only did it get them some better players but it seemed to help improve their existing players, too.
Yeah they played a lot better in this year’s Division I. And they only had 3 naturalized players (as opposed to 6/7).

Yes this is just so...well, that decision pissed us off that it´s impossible to say how much...becuase I am already more than certain that Belarus will find a way to win in overtime or so against us and destroy our streak of never missing a single Olympic tournament since the independence..and just because IIHF in one of their weak moments promissed the host direct spot to a FOURTH tier hockey nation lol
I mean China ? why ? for everything on earth why ?
If they wanted so much to show how China is improving in hockey, They should let us play against them a kinds of qualifying match, (Even in Beijing and without our NHLers, I really don´t mind)..
But well, it is how it is, hello double digit blowouts, and we all know how China don´t love to be embarassed, they are going to swallow some hard ridicul shames in 2 years.
Honestly I’m looking forward to China being embarrassed lol. The federation is apparently intent on not naturalizing any players

It's a very good turnout overall too. Only 6 IAAF members won't be there (, , , and )
