Wait what! It’s literally less than 2 days before the games. Glad to see them enter the fold, but it’s almost like they had divine intervention to get in this year. Do you have a link to the article or announcement?

    https://zenit.org/articles/athletica-vaticana-in-montenegro-for-games-of-small-states-of-europe/

Here’s the only article I could find in English. But they also posted it on Athletica Vaticana’s Facebook page!

and back to the ice for the last quarterfinals.

in the very last match in Košice during this world championship the 2nd team of group A will face the 3rd team of group B, so Finland vs Sweden, the derby usually called the derby without favorite. Both teams played together also in 2011 when Slovakia hosted the world champiosnhips for the first time and it was in the very last game of the tournament in that epic gold medal match and :FIN team around Mikael Granlund won that match in impressive way 6-1 to claim their 2nd ever world title.

In Bratislava the 2nd team of Group B will face the 3rd team of Group A. The almost home country Czech Republic will face a very dangerous squad of Germany led by their super star Leon Draisaitl who basically qualified his team to the quarterfinals by scoring that for Slovakia hearthbreaking winning goal in the last minute and the 2 winning goals in the last period over Finland causing Suomi will have to play against Sweden in the QF.

    The matches will start soon.

    Note: for the semifinals

If FIN and CZE wins...the semifinals will be RUS-FIN and CAN-CZE

if FIN and GER wins... the semifinals will be RUS-GER and CAN-FIN

if SWE and CZE wins ...the semifinals will be RUS-SWE and CAN-CZE

if SWE and GER wins...the semifinals will be RUS-GER and CAN-SWE

We’re facing Canada no matter what. Perfect.

yes, all unlikely scenarios...Draisaitl's goal just killed an entire Nation, I fear...:(

it's a real pity that after such an amzing start, SVK just lost their minds...because I'm pretty sure that losing games like they did vs CAN and above all GER it's only a matter of mental issues...

I think the US losing to Canada and Germany/Denmark is possible. Let’s hope. It’s not just in the realm of obscurity yet.

This was one insanely disastrous match from both our goalies ! Especially Peter Budaj, probably his worst match in all his career, he literally got a goal from every shot..never seen anything like that before :facepalm:and then (after being quickly replaced after only 5 minute - and the match was already done) also Rastislav Staňa...

This was seriously one extremely embarassing afternoon

I've found an entire video- the commentators are talking all about how great Peter Budaj was before the game.

It's just comic in the sense that everyone was in total shock, and it didn't matter extremely much.

I remember I was crying that morning watching our guys crying :( but yeah, it was our fault, we had it in our hands, but messed everything with dumb mistakes in the last 10 or so minutes...

pity.. we´ll probably never have such amazing team and such chances again

Honestly Slovakia losing to Denmark was more comic than anything, but the loss to Finland at the Olympics was just heartwrenching :( It was such an amazing effort though. Big shoes to fill for sure.

Seriously ? that´s really surprise me

Yeah nothing in America either except a couple of stereotypical New York Times articles about gender equality mentioned her. Nothing focusing on her though, which is pretty sad.
