Korey Jarvis is in the repechage. Unlikely to make it to the medal bout, but its always good to have a second chance.

This olympics has gone about as well as we can ask for. There will always be disappointments for every country with a big team of athletes, and our successes definitely outweighed the defeats this time around.
Absolutely. Hopefully this is the changing of the guard for Canada in the summer Olympics. Its been such a success.

Considering Pendrel crashed in the first lap I'm not quite sure I agree
Grest performance from Pendrel to come back from being way back to grab a medal.
I didn't know she crashed haha. I turned the race on and dozed off and woke up to the Canadians in 3rd and 4th. I was like what on earth happened, haha.

Well I think the curse for Canada in this event is over.

Can Canada do anything now?

Melanie McCann is third entering the last event of Modern pentathlon! Wow!
What on earth? That's truly a crazy result for a Canadian.

Also there is nothing on the internet about this but IOC and IAAF list Dunfee as the bronze medalist.

Dunfee loses his medal now... Japan's appeal is successful
Jeeze. Again?
-
That is still a fantastic result.

Is the final just one race?
-
Too bad that Lamaze missed that one jump. But a tremendous result nonetheless!

I don't recall a protest for Canada ever being successful.

Brooke not doing too well in golf so far.
I mean she's at par now. Yesterday at the half she was -1

Dunfee finishes 4th. I can't complain, he ran a great race and a great future!
I would like to think what would have happened if Arai hadn't elbowed with him.
-
What a day. So many great success! DeGrasse not being media hype makes me so happy!
-
Tying London though is very likely though.

And who is to say who will emerge in the next couple of years. We have the coaches and I'm sure we have the talent, we just don't know them yet.

Mayer is close to passing Eaton.

No I mean Mayer, but Kazmirek might get him for bronze too
Sorry, the live scores are not very good. Mayer's Pole Vault wasn't included for Warner and Kazmirek's were.

Warner probably going to have settle for bronze, Mayer is way too strong in Pole Vault and the gap will be too big
You must mean Kazmirek?

Nyhaug is through!!!

Haha, on the Rio Olympics site, next to Tory's name (and others) it says "Probably qualified". I've never seen that before. It's true though, as long as he finishes the next race he moves on.
That was after the first heat as well. I was very confused.

Nyhaug finishes 1st in his first heat. But there was a huge crash.
How does the qualification work?
-

The seeding is ridiculous though. That first heat had the silver and bronze medalists from the world championships, the fifth place team and the Americans who could have won gold if not for a botched exchange. The next heat has Jamaica and............Germany?
I think its because we didn;t qualify in World Relays

Jarvis won round one of the repechage. His next opponent will be tough to beat but at least he finishes the tournament with a win.
