Well, they are not as good as they were in for example  2006-2010 where they got bronze in World Championship, World Cup or Euro Championship, but they are still a very good team, definitely better than Japan or China. The distribution of teams is awful, but the Bulgarian Federation probably simply could not afford to buy their spot, unlike Japanese or Chinese federations.

RELIMINARY ROUND STANDINGS

2. TOP 5 TEAMS after the preliminary round qualify for the final round.
3. If France is among the top 5 teams , THE 6-th RANKED TEAM also qualifies.
4. The 12 CORE TEAMS can not be relegated.
4. The WEAKEST PLACED  CHALLENGER team may be relegated from the competition if they lose the relegation playoff against the FIVB Challenger Cup (to be  played at a later date) winner.

1.Matches Won/Lost Ratio (MW/ML)
2. Points Achieved (3 PTS = 3:0 or 3:1 win ; 2 PTS = 3:2 win ; 1PTS = 2:3 defeat ; 0PTS = 0:3 or 1:3 defeat)

Why not just use the continental championships / cups as quallifiers?

The whole concept of giving "wild cards"  (or rather, selling a quota)  for the world/euro championship / champions league  is wrong in any sport  and should be immediately cancelled.

But wow, we won a match in volleyball, that´s really something new. I wonder when this happened last time, this must be for ages

Wonderful, apparently there's some sort of strike among fuel truck drivers/companies (something like that) in Brazil, making it rather unsure whether or not my girlfriend can make it to the airport Saturday to fly to the Netherlands....
I know a strike like this causes more significant problems in the big picture obviously, but this sucks.

Slovakia will play all preliminary round matches in KOŠICE !!!!  can you even believe it ? I can not even describe the feeling when I heard the official news in the radio. Wow I feel like a kid that everyone forgets in a pastry shop the whole night or so  this is really something that can happen only once in a life
