    Each team has one set of oars. At the exchange after each leg, the team passes the oars over to their teammates. A dropped oar does not mean disqualification, but it means the team will have no choice but to use their arms as oars for the remainder of the race

    Yes!! That’s exactly it. So while most would pronounce “chairs” with a z sound at the end (chairz) the Chicano influence has led the s at the end to be pronounced with an s sound instead of z sound. And that is what I picked up on in your accent. That’s so cool that it’s a thing after all

    I am also taking 2 weeks off work to watch the Olympics. I made sure to get that request approved at the start of January . I didn't book the day of the Opening Ceremony but I will probably book it closer to the time when the excitement starts taking over. Not sure what kind of ceremony there is going to be anyway

    I did my first 2 listens last weekend and after that did my first cut. Had 2 more listens of the remaining songs this week (Monday and Wednesday). Plan to do another on Friday and Sunday. The top 2 switched positions after yesterday’s listen which doesn’t happen that often for me this far into the process so it’ll be interesting to see if it switches again. Down to 16 songs though.
