I'll post significant changes periodically. I'll start with the recently added/updated documents. Archery The addition of mixed compound (12M & 12W) forced a reduction on the recurve side. The mixed compound quotas are distributed as follows Host - 1 World Championships - 3 Continental Games - 5 World Ranking List - 2 Final Qualifier - 1 To compensate the team events will now only have 8 nations. 2 quotas were removed from the World Ranking List and 2 were removed from the Final Qualifier. Individual recurve and mixed recurve distribution is the same

Slowly going through the documents. Looks like canoe slalom qualifiers will be a bit different. More kayak cross quotas which will let nations to essentially qualify two kayakers.

I'm glad they didn't try to force continental representation in flag football. Looking at the proposed date ranges for the qualifier series (including the continental championships) it seems they are making it as easy as possible for NFL (and CFL for Canada) players to compete. I still don't know if established nations will go that route or stick with people who know the game, but I imagine smaller nations may try to go that route. I guess don't be surprised if the likes of or become viable nations during the qualification process.

I mean, nobody has to. The obstacle course is just equipment that can be temporarily placed. It'd be like complaining that almost no artistic gymnastics venues are permanent

Any updates to when the qualification document will be published? I can find a handful of sports, but I'm wondering if the combined document will be published any time soon.

I suspect IBSF will make the point system equal in the future regardless on the number of competitors. My fear is that they will make the awarded points lower, like only 90 points to the winner to balance it out.

To be fair, has been active in men's water polo for about a decade. I've been using them as a barometer for whether a European nation is relevant. I'd love to see them face non-European nations some time to see how they'd stack up.

Pretty much. Hockey relies more on the team aspect than any other Olympic team sport IMO. The best players rarely play half the game, even more than 40% is a lot of ice time and not sustainable long term. Goalies can only do so much if they are facing 50 shots at decent angles. I'd much rather have a team of NHL 3rd liners than a team with 1-2 superstars and the rest from the AHL.
