  1. Impossible to tell. Some heats raced it out, some didn’t.
  2. There’s tons on the World Archery channel on YouTube, all live during the season.
  3. Slovenskoczechia, i think you mean.
  4. What happened in the rowing is just as we thought. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/olympics/article-9842525/Jurgen-Grobler-accused-destroying-Team-GB-athletes-former-oarsmen-Josh-Bugajski.html
  5. Has been a great morning & afternoon already. We’re up to 24 medals now plus a further three minimum from the boxing, so I reckon the minimum of 45 looks well attainable. Also building a handy lead over the other major European nations, which is one of my personal targets. Three golds down on , but they are probably front-loaded with rowing & swimming up early.
  6. Like the Norwegian triathlete, but with more appropriate clothes.
  7. BMX has been a long trail of tears for at the Olympics until the last ten minutes.
  8. We are leading the 4th place category like one of those old school pacemakers who gets a 250m lead, decides to stay in after all & ends up winning the race.
  9. Tough luck if you have ended up with Tuvalu.
  10. Some unexpected last minute changes of nationality in the High Jump qualifiers.
  11. The Finn really threw a hand grenade.
  12. Yeah, but the viscosity of the water obviously suits the New Zealand paddling style.
  13. Incidentally, there are dedicated streams for many, if not all, of the field events.
  14. No, sorry my TV signal has noise.
  15. Runner with the name-badge Temporary! Scicluna of Malta! Someone messed up!
  16. Also handy round-up of Islamic dress codes, should you fancy a holiday post-COVID.
  17. This is where we test your knowledge of the three letter country codes.
  18. It's the Singapore way, baby!
  19. I suppose most Indians don't like to dwell on the colonial era much. Generally such families were engineers, railwaymen, miners & so on. British technicians who married Indian ladies, had families which obviously followed the father's name & came back to Blighty at some point post 1947. Those who stayed on just got absorbed back into the Indian side of their family. The exact same thing has been discussed on other threads here about Dutch Indonesians. The most famous Anglo-Indian is Cliff Richard, the singer.
  20. I have a theory as to why the TV coverage of the shooting in particular has been so awful this Olympics. Copied from a UK website to which I belong. Exactly: it was extremely badly presented here. The English guy on the commentary is the one who does the regular ISSF broadcasts & he was complaining about it. I’m wondering if this & other broadcasting problems are a product of COVID. Usually Olympics TV production for specialised sports is outsourced to TV producers who cover the same sports week in week out. But if they are not able to travel, it will just be done by Japanese TV crews who don’t necessarily understand what camera placements, on-screen graphics, replays etc etc are needed for that particular event.
  21. I’m thinking beach volleyball as a sport more suited for Chadean conditions.
  22. I checked. San Marino is indeed smaller than both Liechtenstein & Bermuda.
  23. Rehek Stefecekova (please feel free to add your own diacretics) hits 125/125 in the trap qualifying; guarantees herself a shoot-off at worst. Actually, previous WR was 123…. second.
  24. Huge drama - Ananu Das puts out gold medal favourite Jinhek Oh after a one arrow shoot-off!
  25. And after Finke’s win, a possibility for Fink in the 200m breaststroke.
