intoronto got a reaction from dcro in Cross-Country Skiing at the Winter Olympic Games Beijing 2022
Canada won't bow out. They named two alternates as well and will take them if given a quota

intoronto reacted to NearPup in Freestyle Skiing at the Winter Olympic Games Beijing 2022
What's kind of shocking is that Canada only accepted 30 quotas even though they can accept 32 (thought they are maxed out on the men's side).

Croatia now first reserve in female alpine skiing assuming all reallocations will be accepted
no idea if the team event has an impact or not, did not consider that. But overall seven quotas declined so far.

Those are awful high expectations given the state of the world. If Beijing is remembered for hosting games that weren’t a complete disaster then they will have done a great job (see also: Tokyo last year).

Especially after the bizarre interpretation of the rules that allowed Frimpong in last time; was it the "clean list" or something so that 60 was really 100.

I got a deep cut for you: Igor Tikhomirov, bronze medallist at the 1988 Olympics in the épée team event, won a world championship bronze medal for Canada in individual épée back in 2006.

30 consecutive matches beating Djibouti was spectacular from Algeria but bumping into a powerhouse like and keep on winning was asking too much from them I think.

No, Sherraine Schalm has six individual world cup wins and a season title.
Canada also has a couple individual world championship medals.

That's when the drama starts. Nations will be accepting/declining quotas in real time, from what I can remember from before Pyeongchang.

based on a super quick (and therefore not so accurate) research, Harvey was already 3rd in the Shanghai Grand Prix event in 2018...that should be the first podium finish in the last 10 years for a female Canadian fencer...follow by today's result...
however, I bet on her and Jessica Guo to improve that score in a very short time...
