  3. Konstanze Klosterhalfen 31:01.71 - 10,000m a superb show, she lapped every other competitor in the race with a new NR
  4. That means I should tell Axoloco in Mexico City to pack his things, and bring enough Mexican spirits?
  5. I managed to watch RAI's coverage of both races. Jonathan Soto actually has enough knowledge of how to ski on snow. Hopefully, he'll earn some worthy results that help him to be under 300 points by January 22 next year. BTW, Italian comentator stated that Greenland was a Norwegian territory a couple of times . The man needs a remedial geopolitics course
  6. This "preferred bid" is basically to tell the rest: "if you even want to us to consider your proposal then be sure to built a lavish hotel, complete with every amenity possible, and waste your entire budget on unecessary arenas with "eco-friendly" materials that only our partner firms can provide you; if not, screw you" So much for equality and transparency, less for a renewal of the Olympic host role.
  7. Well, to be fair, the number of quotas for women is still the same as for men; just less NOC's will have female representation.
  8. Pitty, I hoped local media in Baja California might be following him, to know why he was overlooked to compete in LM2x; it was a good opportunity to earn a second boat.
  9. Soto did it. Now he only need another under 300 result to make it. Too bad for Martinez in the women’s side, but she’ñl have another opportunity tomorrow
  12. It's in the qualification document https://nocnsf.nl/media/1697/fisa-rowing.pdf
  13. Well, given the poor publicity this competition in particular received, and that travel to Mexico is suspended as far as I know, they probably have a reason to miss this competition.
  14. How does the qualification race works? A specific time or a top position?
  15. What about ANY athlete that is discriminated in their own country for their political beliefs? Latin American and African countries would parade behind the 5 rings more often than not. True. the situation in Belarus is an utter chaos and severe crackdown on political and human rights; but again this is a direct attack to a single country. Given that criteria Cuba should've parade behind the rings from 1960; Venezuela from 2004 until today; Zimbabwe? Sudan? Syria? Myanmar?
  16. Maybe they will pick 4 from those 6, names only revealed in the starlist.
  17. Well, Argentina decided that their last game wasn't worth it, so Colombia took the chance and beat them, just as Venezuela clinch another victory against the Chilean side.
  18. Didn't know that fact; indeed an interesting situation, dont you think @Braulio?
  19. Rememer only a single boat per country across all categories goes to Tokyo, the highest ranked takes precedence. Only exception is if 2 boats finish first, they both can qualify; if a third crew also finishes first, then NOC must choose which among the 3 boats will be cut.
  20. Entries by name and boat for the Americas Regatta next week. Because of the qualification rules, I can see almost every NOC participant qualifying, and in the case of women events, even a women's quota being transfered to the final qualification event. Meanwhile I can already see and clinching a place in W1x, while should qualify in either women's or men's L2x, or even both. For Mexico, I should think Cabrera is a solid bet in M1x, unless Lechuga in W1x finish better than him (very unlikely) I wonder why Mexican federation dropped Alexis Lopez/Alan Armenta from LM2x: they were probably our best boat ever in that event and another chance to have more than a single competitor in Tokyo.
  21. Next week, the Rowing regatta is confirmed to be held at Puerto Progreso, Yucatan (Mexico) Let's hope either the local sports institute or the Mexican Rowing federation. Wonder why they didn't scheduled to be held in Rio at the same time that the Olympic qualifiers
