  1. As with the women, here is the scenario for men: there are 59 divers qualified for individual events, leaving 9 spots to reach the target 68 competitors. From those 9, 3 will go to divers from , & , as neither of them has a second quota in the corresponding individual events in which they earned places in synchro. However, the other likely half of those duos (Marsaglia, Terauchi & Sereda) qualified in individuals so their quotas in synchro won't be counted. So, we have 26 synchro only divers that will compete for 6 quotas. Woo Ha-ram qualified in 3 events, and is likely to be selected in all of them, so he will vacate 2 of them, and probably so his synchro partner, so we're down to 23 Daley & either Goodfellow or Laugher will surely double, so now we have 21 For , I project Kuznetsov & Shleikher to compete in both springboard events. We take 2 off, and reach 19 The last country I'm sure will use a double starter, it's Canada in 10m (either Szombor-Murray or Riendau). And then there were 18/6, so no chance for reallocation in both men and women isn't likely to happen, as the target quota will be surely be surpassed in men and if those few that might remain from the women quota, are likely to be used for the male competitors.
  2. Updated as of May 5th, 2021
  3. Agree, although reallistically I think Willars/Balleza in 10m synchro could be our safest option for a medal in Tokyo. Others will make it to the final, but it will be a transition Games for Mexican diving like Athens edition.
  4. Qualified athletes in 3m Springboard Martin Wolfram Alexis Jandard @Benolympique although that last dive of his was overscored. Alberto Arévalo Alcón Rodrigo Diego - 12 out of 12 quotas @Braulio Anton Down-Jenkins Nicolás García Boissier @Fran-UDA congrats 2 divers qualified. Yona Knight-Wisdom Jonathan Ruvalcaba (former competitor for , still living and training in his native country ) Oliver Dingley @OlympicIRL Yeongnam Kim Thomas Ciprick Lorenzo Marsaglia
  5. And Tocci blows it in his last dive
  6. Probably incomplete name at Wiki, but he appeared to be the same guy to me and @thepharoah confirmed it. BTW, end of hope for Lesiak now, as he has to go over 30 points above 7 guys Anyone inside the top 18 that gets above 395 points mark, is in.
  7. Nice competition for Mohab Ishak @thepharoah . He could contend for a semifinal place at Tokyo. However, and correct me if I'm wrong, checking his birth date he already had a quota through the African Championships.
  8. And again Ito's mind betrays him
  9. And Jahir Ocampo blows it @Braulio... it's down to Rodrigo Diego and his 2 high degree dives.
  10. And that's it for Rzeszutek @rybak
  11. Still 3 rounds to go, so anything could happen, and he's only 16th points behind 18th place.
  12. Ito blows takes himself out of competition
  13. I arrived a little late from work to catch it from the start, but I'm guessing he entered in an angle or did a lot of splash.
  14. Afthinos was robbed in that second round dive
  15. Updated as of May the 4th be with you 2021
  16. Again, this is using FINA's own, a quick count gives me 57 individual divers; so in theory 11 spots should be left to reach the target 6 women. From those 11, 2 of them are sure to go to Italy in 3m synchro, as they failed to qualify in individual. That now gives me 9 quotas to be filled by 30 other possible divers entered for the synchro events. Among the individuals, I can see Benfeito, McKay doubling and Abel as sure double starters. Down to 27/9 From Germany, Punzel will likely compete in 3 events, so probably I won't count her 2 synchro quotas, and neither her 10m partner. Now 24/9 For Malaysia, Pamg is locked for both platform events, and I'm also betting their synchro springboard duo will be selected. 21/9 Other almost sure double starters are Reid and Enomoto in 3m events, as well as Toulson, Arai and Orozco in platform. That will give us 16 synchro competitors with only 9 places to be distributed, so from the women's side it looks like no lucky losers will be advancing.
  17. Quotas in Women's 10m Platform: Jun Hoong Cheong Iuliia Timoshinina Gabriela Agundez García/Montserrat Gutiérrez Lavenant Andrea Spendolini Sireieix Elena Wassen Halim Kwon Shen-Yan Freida Lim Christina Wassen Ingrid Oliveira Anna Konanykhina Tanya Watson @OlympicIRL Sarah Jodoin Di Maria Alais Kalonji
  18. And VPN isn't working for me anymore
  19. I think it will be Orozco and Sanchez for individuals, if the later is in form.
  20. Again, lack of competition tacking it's toll. One of the French divers just hit the pool with her back
  21. Thanks for the link. Mexican news had already briefly covered this story, but now I’ll look forward for a more pro media to cover the story.
  22. So that would mean Mexican gymnasts have no longer a chance Tired of this bullshit of news outlets/federations/coaches not actually taking the time to properly read their rules and understand them, then opening their mouths to say lies for lazy “reporters” to spread it I’m not against actual journalists and reporters who do their jobs, just against those that repeat info
  23. I think this time reallocation will be a long shot. What FINA didn’t consider when amending their document is that, in previous editions most countries used sent their best competitors, so actually only 3-7 of the semifinalists via World Cup were different from those divers already qualified from the World Championships/Continental Qualifiers. So, when final entries came and given some divers competed in 2-3 events (plus quota rejection), there were 2-5 spots per individual event to be filled by the highest ranked among non qualifiers. Speaking about this edition, I think at the end of World Cup, all qualified divers will add up more than 68 per gender. Legally FINA could not take the quotas awarded ti the semifinalists as it will likely be taken before TAS if they tried to cut them from Tokyo, but that will also mean this time no.”lucky loser” may get in.
  24. Yes it looks like it, sorry for Molvalis and Tsirikos. They’re decent performers, but today wasn’t their day.
  25. Yeah in principle those semifinalists have their places secured. I will wait until every event is complete though, as I’m afraid this time and under FINA’s own rules, the athlete quota is likely to be surpased. So for the time being we can add the spots earned in semis, and correct them once FINA confirm the quotas awarded at this event.
