  1. This is a complete phony discipline taking away a lot of quotas from other events... To be honest, let's throw this out and get back to 13 players per team in Water Polo, plus 10 more open swimming and another 12 per gender in diving.
  2. It's from the same company, I think those two are among the best, although nowadays local "handcrafted" beers are one of the few growing industries in Mexico. From the other ones, I like Beck's, but are Stella Artois and Heineken are ok too... never tasted Fisher Other beers I like: Pilsner Carlsberg (DEN), Pilsner Urquell (CZE) and Cusqueña (PER)
  3. You can already fill the spaces: team & duet team & duet (team place due to reallocation as Russia will qualify from European event) team & duet duet (following China's being reallocated the team spot) duet duet team & duet (team place due to reallocation as Russia will qualify from European event) Thankfully, New Zealand and South Africa are likely to reject their quotas, so we will see more deserving swimmers in Tokyo. Sadly, Australia and Egypt will take Greece and Mexico out of the team competition.
  4. A prediction for the Women's 10m Synchro Springboard initial round and finals at Sunday 8:45 AM CET Dive List Out of the starting pairs, only Macau is already out of the final, the other duets at risk are Norway and Romania. South Korea will advance thanks to the judges, but shall be no treat for the Olympic quota. Now, for the final, here are my picks: Secure: Big chance to qualify: Other contenders: :
  5. Me neither... they're quite inconsistent and prone to fail dive, either in synchro or individual competitions. Still, kudos on today's performance, as they were good enough to overcome the rest and qualify for Tokyo, even if their executions were just regular.
  6. Well judges always favor them, I think they always have a 0.5-1,0 advantage over the rest. Nevertheless, they are a step ahead of every other team, yet their scores should be definitely be lower and also they should be beaten more often at competitions. What for me has been a real scandal its the scores of the Japanese and Korean divers... in the first case, FINA seems likely to throw them a medal next year at Olympics and in Korea's case, I think they couldn't left the hosts without any reward, and this discipline was the easiest one in which they could favor them.
  7. An unfortunate injury for Gagne He hit the board and had some scrapes on his back. But it seems it's not really serious and he seems to be confident he can perform well in the individual event. With that in mind, there's plenty of time for him and Imbeau-Dulac to get that quota next year.
  8. Mexico will end this edition with one silver and a bronze thanks to our star, Jorge Martinez
  9. México wins the men's 4x400 relay 3:02.89 amazing time, the eight fastest by country rank this season
  10. In an hour the prelim round of the first qualification event for Tokyo, the Men's 3m Synchro Springboard Dive List Finals at Saturday 8:45 AM CET Early predictions for the 3 quotas Secure (unless tragedy happens): Big chance to qualify: Other contenders:
  11. Exactly, that was a thing when I was a teenager... get over it Gold Medal winner Thomas Bach, 1976, fencing.
  12. Well, negligence is also a form of cover up, and that must account for at least, an investigation against Kenya's athletic federation and doping authority.
  13. Wonder why, given this, there's no need for Kenyan athletes to compete under authorization and a neutral flag.
  14. Well from the divers above only the Jamaican is going to compete in Lima in this event. USA and MExico will send different divers, so probably along with Jamaica, the Canadians and the Colombians have a shot in the one meter.
  15. Men's 1m Springboard Non-Olympic Event Preliminary Round Results Athletes Qualified for the Final Rank Competitor Nation Result 1 WANG Zongyuan 429.40 2 PENG Jianfeng 410.80 3 WOO Haram 396.10 4 PACHECO MARRUFO Rommel 390.40 5 KOLODIY Oleg 370.40 6 HERRERA Briadam 365.25 7 LESIAK Kacper 358.70 8 TOCCI Giovanni 357.50 9 HAUSDING Patrick 357.20 10 HEATLY James 355.35 11 KNIGHT-WISDOM Yona 354.30 12 QUINTERO DIAZ Rafael 352.00 Full Results
  16. Well as with gymnastics, even the best can fail at times. Still any diver in the top 30,as of now, are still with good chances to qualify. I don't know if you remember, but that's how Greece ended up with the gold in 3m synchro men's at the 2004 Olympics.
  17. Well this is probably the hardest event for a diver... you need enough power to go as high as you can and complete the turns and twists in time to hit the water in a vertical position. You won't see many notes beyond 8.5 even from the Chinese.
  18. On what seems like great news for Great Britain and Canada, North Korea didn't enter its divers... that means a good chance for either team in women's 10m synchro, with China and Malaysia.
  19. Well, today only 1m prelims in both genders... only top twelve advance to final.
  20. Luminosa BOGLIOLO 12.79 Women's 100m hurdles
  21. Alison SANTOS 48.57 Men's 400m hurdles Sokwakhana ZAZINI 48.73 Men's 400m hurdles
  22. Alison Santos wins men's 400m hurdles with the season's 5th best time 48.57 and is going to Tokyo @vinipereira Sokwakhana Zazini gets silver and ALSO qualifies for Tokyo Games with 48.73
  23. As long as they're not as cheap as those from Guadalajara
