  1. Well, I'm pretty sure Campuzano is in, as she's a main contender, especially after USA will select only one competitor.
  2. Manrique Larduet is out of the games due to wrist injury... this should open the field in Men's AA
  3. The quota gets reallocated according to this: First, to any other eligible NOC at the Pan Am Games (also applying to European and Asian Games) that has an archer in the top 4. Here i think USA archers (already qualified) plus Dueñas will finish in the podium, yet any of the other countries have an archer capable of reaching semis. And only if there isn't a NOC fulfilling conditions above, then it gets added to FQT individual places.
  4. After the quotas in men's recurve have been awarded, I think the following is possible. & have good chances of being one of the 3 teams advancing in the FQT, so probably those two spots will get added to the individual quotas of the FQT. gets the individual spot at the Pan Am Games, but will be also a contender for a team spot, in which case & could get that spot.
  5. The separate OQT would be only in the women's event, as 4 nations eligible for an individual spot at the Olympics tied for 9th position in the "regular" Championships ( ) That was not the case for the men's, though
  6. And first time in history, I believe, a competitor from Bangladesh is going to fight for a medal in an Olympic sport World Championships
  7. @thiago_simoes and everyone who has interest, this year's Panamerican Junior Rhythmic Gymnastics championships can be watched here, starting tomorrow
  8. Men's World Championship to be streamed on WBSC's Youtube Channel, starting tomorrow
  9. In principle, it will be reallocated to the next best ranked not qualified NOC among those that end in the first four places, on condition it has and archer in ech gender that ahs reached MQS.
  10. Only if their archers reach MQS from this date until the Final Qualification tournament.
  11. Mexican Diving Team Men's Springboard (1m, 3m & 3m Synchro): Paola Espinosa & Dolores Hernández Men's Platform (10m & 10m Synchro): Gabriela Agúndez & Alejandra Orozco Women's Springboard (1m, 3m & 3m Synchro): Yahel Castillo & Juan Celaya Women's Platform (10m & 10m Synchro): Kevin Berlín & Iván García So congratulations Canada, it seems that you will practically clear this discipline, the exception being Men's 10m where depending on USA's selection, might go to them. The selection has not been drama free though; it all started at the beggining of this year, when the federation decided to award Castillo & Celaya a spot in the last two stages of Diving World Series instead of the more solid pairing of Pacheco & Ocampo in 3m synchro, which automatically generated a lot of animosity between both pairs. Then in May, the rest of Pacheco & Ocampo's teammates (Ma Jin's team for short) decided to skip their appearance in that last stages, which prompted a strong condemnation from the National Federation. Last week, at the qualifications, Celaya & Castillo won the synchro competition by a few points, while they were way behind Pacheco & Ocampo in the individual events. As per the qualification process for the games and the selection rules that were submitted last year to Mexico's NOC, the Swimming federation had to evaluate not only the results of that competition, but also the level shown in international competition in order to select the athletes that would be in Lima. Despite that, I'm of the opinion they grossly ignored their own directives, and therefore, they might have a case in which they could appeal. However, things look bleak for Pacheco and Ocampo, since the latter took on twitter directly addressing the National Sports Comission director, former Olympic medalist and World Champion Ana Guevara, who felt "threatened" by a strong and direct message and now has colluded with the federation to try to silence them or else, she will stop the already scarce public funding, which was recently reduced from $250 USD monthly per athlete, to only $100 USD
  12. Yes, this team finally have 6-7 riders that have enough level to do a good try to qualify at the Pan Am Games
  13. And finally, Mexican jumping team riders has been selected, but the horses haven't been revealed Enrique González DelgadoEugenio Garza PérezLorenza O'Farrill Toscano Patricio Pasquel Quintana Reserve: Salvador Oñate Barrón I think we have a decent shot to qualify for Tokyo after disaster 4 years ago.
  14. Well I think is the wisest decision.
  15. @dcro Mexico's team in eventing has been named. Pedro Gutierrez Aja and California Mail Guillermo German De Campo Martinez and Quelite Abraham Gaspar Ojeda Serrano and Tamara Jose Alan Triana Martinez and Violento Reserve: Fernando Parroquin Delfin and Romana No Daniela Moguel so I guess there goes their chance to end in the podium, right?
  16. USA upsets Japan and ends advancing directly to semifinals, while Japan faces Poland in quarterfinals.
  17. What do you think about this team? Could they qualify a rider into the last stage?
  18. It seems heat and humidity are a real issue in every game. I just watched v. Despite the heat, Japanese players were fast and precise. In the end, the fatigue caused by those factors and some errors in shooting caused them to score only 3 times. I’m completely impressed by their game and hope they get a great result next year. On the other hand Mexican squad is a complete disaster. Putting aside that they could barely secure plane tickets and their lack of adequate gear, they clearly seem lost on the pitch, they can’t get right a pass bigger than 3 meters and could only enter the circle twice in the game; their “best” player is the goalie, but that will not save them from ending at the last place. Yet I can’t dent I went crazy when they manage a quick counter attack and surprise Japan with the first goal of the match which is also the fastest in the tournament so far.
  19. There are no draw for the match-ups,,, results from the qualification round will be used to rank teams. Teams ranked 1st-8th will have a bye in first round, while those ranked 9th-24th will face each other.
  20. Here Any country with 3 athletes is automatically entered in team events.
  21. I thought I have posted about that already, but it seems I misplaced it somewhere. Moreno's injury is not that serious, but both she and the federation chose to let her skip Lima and instead focus on World Championships and Olympic ticket. This time it seems Mexican men will have better chances of ending in the podium. Our 2014 silver medalist Corral is back with decent scores and no pressure, so he may qualify for a couple of finals (bars, pommel horse) plus De Luna is our best card in Rings. About women, I don't expect a single medal this time... our all arounders are really inconsistent, Elsa Garcia is already in decline and Atziri Sandoval needs to improve her difficulty if she really wants a medal in uneven bars,
  22. Mexican Greco-Roman wrestlers continue to show progress in this discipline. Today they won 4 golds and 1 silver at the Jr. Pan American Championships
  23. Mexican Men's team has been announced. Daniel Corral is back on team and won the all around, followed by Fabian Luna. So I'm hoping those two advance to apparatus finals. Meanwhile, women's competition was held today. On a tragic note for our delegation, Alexa Moreno pulled out because of an injury , meaning no chance for medals this time, unless Ana Lago and Elsa Garcia have an awesome performance in their respecrive comebacks.
  24. Good show... would like to hear more collaborations in the future.
  25. Cuba gets the spot for North & American and Caribbean teams Final: 24 v. 27 3rd place: 22 v. 20 5th place match 27 v. 33
