  1. You're right, maybe their own NOC counted wrong
  2. PUERTO RICO 244 competitors, 134 men & 110 women in 24 sports & 29 disciplines
  3. Well, with Jarry in tennis Usually you barely see any top 80 players at the Games.
  4. MEXICAN DELEGATION 543 competitors, 296 men & 247 women in all sports in the program except baseball. Still, many sports ran not so transparent selection process, the most notable diving, but also irregularities in swimming, fencing & athletics, and to a lesser extent, cycling, artistic gymnastics & men's tennis The goal is again to surpass 23 gold medals, which is the biggest number obtained outside Mexico (at the 1995 & 2015).
  5. 542 for Mexico, at least before any other reallocations. @vinipereira
  6. My thougths exactly... team Gold is practically locked, with only Canada having some possibiities to avoid a swept in the individual events.
  7. Thanks for the information
  8. First shocker of CONCACAF's Gold Cup... Curazao beat Honduras 1-0 and thus Catrachos are already eliminated from competition after El Salvador and Jamaica tied.
  9. I waited patiently to see when would you thanked my country for sending one of their best Joke aside, I'm happy she's competing at her best for new home, even winning a World Championships medal. Hope she helps the Dutch women to be on pair with their fellow countrymen in this discipline.
  10. A very sad and shameful situation for the Mexican women playing at Hiroshima... the Mexican sport authorities had not paid their hotel yet, so they were in risk of being thrown out; at the last moment a fan or acquaintance of the team tagged Guillermo Del Toro on Twitter so he could use his followers to make the affair of general knowledge to the press, since our current government and in concrete, the director of the Sports Commission (a former Olympic medalist and world champion herself ) have tried to supress any recent criticism; he answered almost immediately, which in turn made the authorities make the late payment, to their own embarrasement.
  11. Costa Rica & Haiti into QF's Still Bermuda complicated the Costa Ricans ; they have a better chance of winning against Nicaragua
  12. I think a qualification tournament is scheduled for June 28-30 which is funny because entries are supposed to be closed by June 26
  13. i guess there are greedy idiots all over the world
  14. Well, that's exactly what's not possible to ask for in a Mexican sports federation Many fans are upset about this decision, but I guess Alexa is doing the best: showing that not including her was a huge mistake. Not as huge as that idiotic bureaucratic mishap that happened at Rio Pan Am Games and cost the entire team a bronze medal.
  15. Well, it looks like men's basketball gold medalist has a clear favorite: Argentina's team looks impressive: Scola, Campazzo, Laprovitola
  16. }Yes, it has been decided already and I'm not happy with the selection, nor are some fans in the country, especially Elsa Garcia's inclussion. Mexico's Women's Team Mexico's Men's Team I think Moreno being left out is something between a missunderstanding on the federation's part about her injury, which was slight at best, but also a desire to watch out for her and expect her to be able to reach her top form later at World Championships
  17. BTW, anyone knows which will be Volleyball's last qualified team? I've read the prospectus of the Men's Pan American Cup, which is being held in Mexico right now, but couldn't find anything related to this year's Pan Am Games. Instead it says this will be the first tournament counting towards qualification for 2023 Pan Am Games.
  18. I'm not sure she will compete in Lima, unless someone gets injured, but I hope she gets top form for World Championships.
  19. I'd still say it will be Brazil, Canada and USA in the podium... they are ahead of the rest, even if they don't bring out their best. Colombia and Cuba rely too much on a single gymnast, which in both cases will be absent, and the other teams are not on the same level. Same for the women... the only other team that could challenge those three if any have a bad day is Mexico, but without Moreno, that will be really hard to get even close.
  20. I count only 47 places, so who got the missing quota?
  21. NICARAGUA 60 competitors, 41 men & 19 women (01 AT | 24 BS | 04 BV | 02 BB | 09 BX | 01 JU | 03 KA | 04 RO | 03 SH | 04 SW | 02 TK | 02 WL | 01 WR) Flagbearer: Jorge VEGA - Artistic Gymnastics This is the official statement from the NOC @vinipereira, sorry for the previous list. The only difference is they will only have one woman in athletics.
  22. Exactly... the way World Rugby enacted this rule is a direct ban to Mexico or any other "minor" team of that region (not that I think they deserve a free pass to Tokyo), and should be compelled to write a better document for the next cycle. Something like: "If the continental qualifier is not within top 20 in the world Rubgy Sevens' rankings, then an extra quota will be given at the World Qualification Event"
  23. As Monzanator said, this is not a B team, but the new coach choose to call some new players, who in turn seem to be responding. I quite like Martino and I hope he improves the level, and puts some discipline on this group. Leaving Hernandez, Vela & G. Dos Santos out was the right move as they had too much power and were only interested in partying & hiring prostitutes at every city they played.
  24. Rodriguez from Mexico .02 from achieving "A" standard in women's 200m breast at least she's in the front row to receive an invitation.
