  8. Georgia Lewin-Lafrance/Antonia Lewin-Lafrance secure their nomination onto the Canadian team in 49erFX following the conclusion of this years 49er/49erFX World Championships!
  9. Update. I just saw a Sailing Canada article on the matter, the Lewin-Lafrance sisters have been nominated to represent Canada at the Olympics! “In the event that only one team places in the top 8 at the 2023 Olympic Class World Championships and no other team places within 10 overall finish positions from the team that finished in the top 8, they will automatically be nominated to the Olympic Team.” “Due to an injury which prevented one of the Canadian teams to compete at last year’s edition of the World Championships in this class, the rule was changed to this year’s edition”
  10. @intoronto are you watching the Brier final?

  12. Bit of a damp end to the Aerials WC season, as finals got cancelled due to foggy weather, but Marion Thenault wins gold in Almaty!
  13. Parallel Slalom WC Winterberg | Winterberg, Germany Mixed Team Gold- Lucia Dalmasso/Daniele Bagozza Silver- Zan Kosir/Gloria Kotnik Bronze- Maurizio Bormolini/Elisa Caffont Full Results
  14. Aerials WC Almaty | Almaty, Kazakstan Finals got cancelled, qualification results stood as the podium. 15. Well yeah, but not in this case. I’m pretty sure most of the top 49er/49er FX duos are competing, there may be some names missing (due to injury and other factors) but a quality field nonetheless. I don’t follow sailing either, so take all of this with a grain of salt. This is all from the research I’ve done
  16. Parallel Slalom WC Winterberg | Winterberg, Germany Men Gold- Sangho Lee Silver- Andreas Prommegger Bronze- Maurizio Bormolini Women Gold- Ester Ledecka Silver- Sabine Schoeffman Bronze- Lucia Dalmasso Full Results
  17. It’s a World Championships, I would assume so They’ve won medals at the last three World Championships (gold in 2022, silver in 2023, and now gold in 2024), and also won the Olympic Test Event in 2023. Right now I’d have them as the favourites for Olympic gold at Paris.
  18. WST Street World Tour | Dubai, United Arab Emirates Men Gold- Kairi Netsuke (263.74) Silver- Gustavo Ribeiro (263.70) Bronze- Sora Shirai (261.19) Women Gold- Liz Akama (270.84) Silver- Chloe Covell (267.89) Bronze- Coco Yoshizawa (253.79) Up next the Olympic Qualifier Series in both park and street!
  19. 6th, 7th, and 12th for Ryan Decenzo, Matt Berger, and Cordano Russell at WST Dubai! In terms of Olympic qualifying, while this was a nice boost towards their totals, the points for the Olympic Qualifier Series are valued way more than the World Skateboarding Tour. Essentially, that means that no Canadian quota is even close to being safe.
  20. 8th for Georgia Lewin-Lafrance/Antonia Lewin-LaFrance Not exactly a medal contending pair, so this was a great result for them. They were 13th at last years Sailing World Championships as well!
  21. 49er/49er FX World Championships just concluded in Lanzarote, Spain. Georgia Lewin-Lefrance/Antonia Lewin-Lefrance with Canada’s best finish overall with a solid 8th in 49er FX! Alexandra Ten-Hove and Mariah Millen finish 30th. In 49er, Justin Barnes and Will Jones take the lead with a 39th place finish. Not much separating them from Arie Moffat/Hunter Hoy (50th) and Thomas Staples/William Staples (55th) though. The teams that are leading right now are the best in each event IMO. Hoping they can keep it up. This is one of two events that counts towards Canadian team selection for the upcoming Olympics, as whoever has the best combined score position (ex 21st + 3rd) after the Princess Sofia Regatta will represent us.
  22. From what I’ve seen, probably Barriere. He beat Davit Chaloyan (World silver medalist) 4-1 in the round of 16. But only slightly.
  23. Didn’t even know that this was a thread, I’ll start to share some of the food that I make here soon No judging me please
  24. Mark Arendz does the triple, as he wins gold in men’s standing sprint pursuit! What a season he’s been having.
