  1. Excellent 4th for Perzamanos, hard lines and close to a medal but one to watch for LA 2028 maybe.
  2. Perzamanos looking impressive in the men’s trampolining qualification. Posted the highest qualifying score so far, but plenty left to come and this is only the first exercise. Eurosport commentators say on his day and when in form he’s a contender, which I trust slightly more than the BBC.
  3. That was superb by Bryony. And another Gold for Team GB!
  4. Peters and Sterritt place 7th in the skiff medal race, which leaves them 7th overall. Unfortunately Beckett not doing well today in the dinghy, finishing 15th in Race 3 which leaves him 16th overall. Good start from Heathcote and Grube in the mixed dinghy, 2nd in Race 1. Race 2 underway now.
  5. Excerpt from British Rowing: In 2022 the GB Beach Sprint Team won five medals at the World Beach Sprint Finals in Wales, two medals at the European Championships in Spain and the Home Nations collectively brought seven medals back from the Commonwealth Regatta. All teams were made up of rowers from a mix of river and coastal backgrounds, the majority of whom had only tried the format for the first time that season. In 2023 our Under 19 Mixed Double won GB’s first World Beach Sprint title and five other boats medaled at the World Beach Sprint Finals.
  6. Athletics: Does the RELAY team make the final? YES Canoe Slalom: Is a Brit first in either event? YES Cycling BMX Racing: Does SHRIEVER win gold? YES Diving: Do they get a medal? YES Equestrian: Do GB get a medal? YES Golf: Does FLEETWOOD end the day in the top ten? YES Hockey: Do we win? NO Rowing: Do we get at least one gold today? YES Sailing: Does WILSON win gold? YES Swimming: Does PROUD win gold? YES Trampoline Gymnastics: How many Brits make the final in total? TWO
  7. Straight up final which determines medal colour I think
  8. And so that’s it for Andy Murray. What a career.
  9. Kye Whyte successfully through to the semi finals in the BMX racing.
  10. I think we’ve had a cracking start to the Games. There have been some individually disappointing results, but I actually think that speaks to how strong and competitive Team GB are and how much we expect of them nowadays. Look at the fine margins we’ve been dealing with - say for example Peaty had won Gold and Richards had a slightly better finish and took Gold as well (let’s not forgot both only missed out by 0.02 of a second). Let’s say the Women’s Four had taken the Gold today. If Collett hadn’t clipped that single fence in the Eventing she’d have taken Gold rather than Bronze in the individual eventing. Kieran Reilly only missed out on Gold by 0.91 in the BMX. Fine, fine margins, and if they’d gone our way we’d be on 10 Golds and sitting second in the table which would be absolutely insane after 6 days of competition. 6 Golds, 7 Silver and 7 Bronze at this point in the Games is amazing and by no means a disappointment. You can’t expect everything to go our way all the time, no matter how much we might wish it so
  11. You’re welcome. Any other weather requests?
  12. Men’s Skiff Medal Race about to get underway (for the second time).
  13. Sam Sills currently in 8th in the men’s windsurfing which would gain him a space in a quarter final as things stand. No action yet for Emma Wilson today in the women’s windsurfing, but she’s currently 1st in the standing which would automatically progress her to the final. In the women’s skiff Team GB didn’t qualify for the medal race. As discussed, the men’s skiff medal race has been interrupted. Mathematically the men can challenge for a medal but it depends on lots of other boat placements etc. Rough start for Beckett in the men’s dinghy with a 19th place. Ladies dinghy yet to get underway.
  14. Jake Wightman out due to injury.
  15. A disappointing start for Beckett in the Men’s Dinghy, finishing 19th place. Races delayed again.
  16. A decent morning at the pool. Osrin and Shanahan qualified in the Women’s 200m Backstroke. Proud qualified 5th fastest in the Men’s 50m Free, Cohoon didn’t progress. Duncan Scott qualified 2nd in the Men’s 200m IM, Tom Dean also through. Women also qualified in the 4x200m Freestyle Relay.
  17. Sky Brown has dislocated her shoulder but is still planning on competing.
  18. Where was this archery form in the team event?!
  19. Athletics: Does Wilkinson come in the top fifteen? YES Canoe Slalom: Can Clarke win a medal? YES Cycling BMX Racing: Does Whyte top his quarter-final YES Equestrian: Are the team in the top three at the end of the day? YES Golf: Is FLEETWOOD in the top ten at the end of the day? YES Hockey: Do the WOMEN win? YES Judo: Does Reid beat Yoon NO Rowing: Do the WOMEN'S FOUR win gold? YES Sailing: Does SILLS qualify for the Men's Medal Race (note revised schedule) YES Shooting: Does McIntosh qualify? YES Swimming: Do we get a RELAY medal? NO Tennis: Do the MEN win at least one set? YES
  20. Eventually Team GB has some success in the boxing ring.
  21. Megs Havers beats Amelie Cordeau of France to progress through to the 1/8 eliminations in the archery
  22. Finishes 7th and remains top of the standings. Edit - apols read the app wrong, I don’t think race is finished yet but she’s now up to 7th!
  23. Fourth in the Men’s Quad Sculls. Hopefully not an omen.
