    Story of the day (night) that may not interest you: my smoke detector woke me up (it apparently has no battery any longer, so it makes a very terrible sound), so I decide to watch the Olympic Games.. And the first thing I see is Clarey crossing the line in second place.

    14 year old Brenda Fruhvirtova has won ITF 25k tournament in Tucuman, Argentina and will move up to ca. #600 in WTA rankings. She is the only U15 player ranked in the Top 1000. Last time a 14 year old won a tournament this big was Nicole Vaidisova 18 years ago.

    Homan lost this game TWICE for Canada.  Canada has missed the playoffs in Olympic curling twice in history, and Homan has been part of both those teams.  
     
    How do you miss that shot in the 8th?  How did she miss that shot in the 9th?  It's unbelievable.

    But they should lock Witold Domański in the cellar for the olympics. This guy is awful. If he is on men's downhill, I'll certainly switch to Nick Fellows & Finlay Mickel.

    Polish ES commentator Marcin Szafranski says the course looks exciting and yeah, all the ice means it kinda holds up pretty well too. Obviously this is still a new course for everyone so we can't call it "short & boring" and it has caught out some names alright.

    Everyone kinda suspected this will be a more icy course with the negative temperatures & artificial snow? I mean those top athletes & their camps should have anyway?
