  3. Update. Doctors have discovered that his condition is acute pancreatitis. It was severe at first (hence him being taken on an ambulance in extreme pain) but his condition got better after time. Today, that all changed, he got worse again and was taken into another wing of the hospital. He’s expected to stay there for about a couple of weeks, maybe even longer. Really hoping he can get well soon, it’s heartbreaking to see him in his current state

Rowan Hamilton with a new PB in men’s hammer throw of 77.16m at the Mt. Sac Relays! Almost half a meter over his previous mark. What a day it’s been for Canadian athletics. Well minus Mitton who had a bit of an off day.

  8. no, that wasn't a robbery once in their lifetime, judges Today have been consistent through the whole day and Lyra was actually losing her technique once she was getting tired the capital mistake is absolutely on her, she knew she had 2 red cards already and didn't even think about slowing down the pace a bit and try to make her action correct again, so to save at least a medal (meanwhile the Japanese girl was really smart -as you would expect at this level of the game- and once she was joined by the Italian didn't even try to answer the attack because she knew that she was also on the edge of a penalty and any increase of the pace at that point would have meant another red card, so she smartly settled down for silver instead of taking useless risks)

  10. I know there were some efforts to bring diaspora Greeks together but I'm not sure what happened. I haven't heard about this in about 10 years. There were always some players with Greek origins in the NHL. I just did some research and there still are: 23 yo Trevor Zegras of the Anaheim Ducks, born in New York to Greek parents 29 yo Andreas Athanasiou of the Chicago Blackhawks, born in Toronto to a Greek father and Guyanese mother There's also Steven Stamkos of the Tampa Bay Lightning, who is a very successful player and already played for Canada so would not be eligible for Greece. However, his family does not even identify as Greek despite his surname and his father's side being from Florina (border town of and , the town has a complicated history from the Greek Civil War which I will not bore you with). Anyways I'm sure there are more Greeks from USA and Canada in lower levels of hockey who would be willing to play for the national team if needed. Hopefully an effort is made so we can be competitive.

  12. Greco-Roman quotas 60kg: 67kg: 77kg: 87kg: 97kg: 130kg: I'm usually more confident in my freestyle predictions but this time it was the opposite. I could be 100% correct, just one match in 97kg went the other way, where the Korean somehow stole a 7-7 win against China. we managed to win the two remaining quotas to have a full Greco team in Paris but it was very close. both of them had to come from behind. Kaviani was 5-0 down but somehow scored 6pts. still it was a poor performance. but I'm glad with two quotas.

  46. and now it's official! the IJF has officially registered Kim Polling's switch from to now she can represent with immediate effect Polling's words on the social media (in Italian...google might be helpful): "Ciao a tutti, mi chiamo Kim Polling e posso dirvi che da oggi posso rappresentare l’Italia.
