and the most idiotic thing in this new mixed relay is that the athlete who finish his leg will have to wait another cca 30 minutes to go another one... Not sure the genius who came up with this idea sometimes raced, because he would have known that the body of race walkers are not build for such extremes, racing 10 and half Km then sit and wait half hour to retake the baton and race another 10k Also a nice gesture to all race walkers who had to say farewell to their beloved 50km they trained and raced all carrer for, to suddenly must change literally everything to adapt to a shorter 35km to just later 1 year prior to the Olympics learns it was not necessary at all and have to became sprinters to readapt for a 10km race, and only if you are from one of the top 25 nations in the world (and still not sure if some NOC´s will be allowed to have 2 teams..so even less that from the top 25 nations) You must love IOC and WA more and more. They just nailed the final one on the race walking coffin, will be really surprised if Race Walk will be in the LA28 program3 points

I know there is are many supporters for this sport here, but I always found it weird and outdated. I agree WA is doing everything to ruin it completely. Hopefully we will not see walking in LA at all. Let’s save all that quotas for other disciplines or even better other sports.2 points

Slightly disappointed they didn't go for the 2x35 km option, just to have 70 km walking event at the Olympics instead of 50 km which was deemed too long. Heck, I would have preferred to have a nonsense mixed individual 35 km race with team medals only as opposed to this.1 point

well actually Rupin was about to win the match 1-1 but gave up a cheap 2points caution for not listening to the ref. that was a rookie mistake, I can't say he will be a medal favorite at the Worlds, toooo early to say that but he can do some damage. the Kazakh guy he beat is no joke, he elimnated Dadmarz in last year Worlds. Iran finished the day with 4 golds and 1 silver without losing a single match on the mat, our 77kg was a bit injured and didn't bother facing Akzhol (he had no chance to win anyway) unlike freestyle we are sending most of our #1 guys in Greco so it was expected to win lots of gold medals. I don't expect the same result tomorrow, not confident about 67 and 72. and also I have to say in 60kg we have World Champion Sharshenbekov in the bracket too.1 point

The first session was perfect for Iran with 5 out of 5 made it to the final but I have to admit all of them were on the easier side of the draw. still I think it wouldn't make a difference for 3 of our guys. I expect 3 or 4 gold medals today, 77kg gold is impossible Akzhol Makhmudov is simply the best in the world. really impressed by India's new guy at 55kg, never saw him before. he was down 7-0 in the first round and again 4-0 (if I'm not wrong) in the 1/4 final against the Kazakh wrestler, had two incredible combacks to qualify for the final. but I hope his run ends here1 point
