  1. France only gets the host quota in K1 events, not c1 events so they have to qualify there

  2. I know it's only the fencing ranking round for modern pentathlon, but the women's quotas look to be set: . Both are far behind. The men will be interesting to see who gets the last spot (unless something bad happens will win quotas). Currently is in 5th spot which would make it their Olympic debut. and are the next nations on the list, the former last competed in 2004 while the latter would also make an Olympic debut.

  7. I'm really happy...I expected them to lose games against and others (not only vs "powehouses" like and ) meanwhile they're winning those matches and yesterday playing also with a lot of reserves of this team of 3rd tier players and yesterday we did even see our usual "libero" (a midget, in volleyball terms) playing in an attacking role (she did even smashed a pipe shot from the 2nd line ) and all this, despite a setter that can't play a ball in the area of any hitter (not saying a precise pass, just a reasonably decent one) and "that man" on the bench we're doing so much beyond expectations, I couldn't be happier and more surprised (even if we just played laughable opponents so far)

oh shit, why they didn't do that for one of women's double sculls events? I also see China entered 3 men for Sanda (they could enter 4) I wonder if it's intentional or what ? they don't want to win 100% available gold medals ?

  9. Just a daily reminder how shitty the website and the whole UWW is in general. You want to pay and it still doesn't let you in. Way to ruin the only important event you have for the year.

  11. Agree on Tarling - he is definitely in with a shout at a medal and has a great chance of taking top spot on the podium. If he does medal, it should be a pretty safe bet that he would also secure his place on the GBR team for Paris assuming he stays injury free over the winter.

  14. Thailand is unpredictable team, they can beat much better teams, but also flop against weaker ones. Random team. But this is huge surprise, considering all Pol vs Thai matches. In 15 matches since 2005, Poland has 11 victories. This is Thailand's first victory against Poland since 2018.

  24. A lot of goals last night with some interesting achievements: Lazio's GK, Provedel scoring in 90+5 minute for 1-1 against Atletico, Barca had no mercy for Antwerp, 5-0 in the end (looks like Joao Felix feels confortable in this team), Newcastle back to UCL with a draw in San Siro (and what a chance they missed in very last minute) and congrats for Zvezda Crvena for playing so good football on Emirates against City, despite they lost, the Serbian team played so well in England

looks like China is going to win all Rowing gold medals. in past there was a rule limiting each country to something like 10 boats (out of 14 or 15) but they removed that this time. (I believe China is a bit vulnerable in Single Sculls events, so maybe they won't win 100% of the gold medals)

  28. it's really sad to see our World Champion had to wrestle in this 5th place match. he should be on that gold medal podium. but OK at least he won the quota after an easy 10-0 win. 65kg quotas are: 3 quotas is the least we could expect here. but that's OK. we still have two more chances to have a full team. and we seriously need to change something. all of our wins were something like 10-0 but we lost almost all close matches. there is something wrong we have to fix. it's not normal to lose lots of close matches in last 30 seconds. I believe our Greco team is better prepared but Greco in general is much tougher.

  30. And there's two PanAm quotas so she just needs to end up on the other side of the bracket I think Canada has a good shot of a decent sized womens team for Wrestling at the qualifier despite not qualifying anyone here.

  33. remember that wins always have priority over points a 5-2 record will always be better than a 4-3, even if the last one has more points this group might really end up in a mess

  34. Just did the set ratio math. Canada needs to win all three matches 3-0 to have a chance to beat China or the Netherlands (and they need to lose to Serbia 0-3 while winning 3-2 in their other two matches). Things are a bit more open if the Dominican Republic finishes with a 5-2 record.

  35. Federations in women's Canoe semifinal Makes 16 federations. 12 of which get a quota place. I think as host doesn't count, because they are prequalified, so three of these federations will be without a quota place from the World Championships (but still could have a chance from the continental qualifier).

  44. only Iranians can dominate a match but still end up losing it what he hell was that. the Russian was on the back foot for the entire 6 minutes. 4 defeats in a row against the Russians and all of those matches (maybe except 74kg) were winnable. just with a better strategy and with using that f..ing brain. most of our guys panic and don't think at all when they are down against RUS/USA.
