The last time someone at the Olympics was disqualified for marijuana use was in 2012 when judoka Nick Delpopolo tested positive after eating marijuana brownies. Remember that incident? Here's his story.

If one athletes qualifies in 2 events and wants to keep both quotas, it means 2 quotas for one athlete. Should not one spot be reallocated? Showing an example of Jakob Ingebrigtsen....

Sadly no. There are target numbers per event which can't be extended in case of double starters (only if too many qualify directly and/or with universality spots).

5 additional Lithuanians have qualified through the rating system:

Airinė Palšytė - high jump (3rd Olympics)

Liveta Jasiūnaitė - javelin throw

Agnė Šerkšnienė - 400m

Adrijus Glebauskas - high jump

Gediminas Truskauskas - 200m

Four of these athletes are Lithuanian record holders.

:RWA Félicien Muhitira thrown off the Olympic team. Can Rwanda even afford that?

Seriously makes you wonder what went on in his head. I mean, one can find the measures too strict or whatever, everyone knows they're there and what the consequences can be of breaching them, meaning being thrown off the Olympic team must have been a risk he was actively willing to take.

GB tennis player Dan Evans who is going to Tokyo was banned for a year for cocaine use.

"Evans was banned from playing professional tennis due to testing positive for cocaine in April 2017. Evans claims that he took a relatively small amount of cocaine out of competition, but that some permitted medication he was taking was then 'contaminated' by the cocaine because he accidentally put the leftover cocaine in the pocket of his washbag, thus testing positive in-competition. Evans was eligible to return to the professional circuit on 24 April 2018, having completed a one-year ban."

Sounds like Richardson may get off much more lightly even if she does miss the OG.

    • North American rugby quotas ( and qualified automatically)    M: and W: and
    • I remember Caroline Golubitsky. She competed with Vezzali for a while but not for long. Rita Konig, whom Vezzali defeated in the final of the Olympic Games in 2000, was more famous, as well as Sabine Bau and Anja Mueller. From what I remember, the Germans competed fiercely with us at some point, but they almost always lost.
    • Shemyakina won a bronze medal in 2014 Worlds and was one of our leader but leave the squad due to pregnancy (she has 2 daughters if I'm not mistaking, so she chose family instead of sport). And speaking of foil we have back in the day Sergiy Golubitskyi, who was Olympic silver medalist and won some medals in other competitions and coached his wife Caroline Golubitskyi - one of the German foil specialists. Even in women's foil we had medal in Women's foil at the European championship - it was Olha Leleiko, our current national coach. So no, we are pretty good fencing country, and depending on generations of our athletes some events are more "profitable" for us and some don't.
    • Shemyakina that was a very strange story. She unexpectedly won the games but before and after she literally achieved nothing. After that success in 2012 she also completely disappeared. It's only in epee that such strange situations. That's why I've always preferred foil and sabre, because the top was more stable there, although that's changing now. The competition has grown a lot all over the world.
