It's not that hopeless for Italy. Bacosi at least can still easily make the final. And the other two have still a chance as well.

I wouldn't say "easily"  (with the top 3 places already gone, she's still behind people like Rhode, Connor & Allen)...

and in any case, everything not being a clean sweep of the event (which is now de facto impossible), for us it's a flop...

the truth is that we are facing our worst world championship in a very, very long time in shotgun shooting...and one of the worst ever in rifle & pistol shooting (at least since we did appear with some ambition on this sport's map)...

Germany and Italy are obviously tanking here, by 2020 they will be back at the top 100%. Of course India looks amazing at junior level, but half of their "juniors" look like 30 year olds, so for now i am not too worried that they will replicate their results at senior level.

Attachment is the great fabricator of illusions; reality can be obtained only by someone who is detached.

Why would they tank ? Does look like they are having a bad world championships. Just 1 quota for Italy so far and only 2 for Germany. US also seems to be underperforming. China, Korea and Russia seem to be the ones with better performance thier Rio olympics level.

US didn't do too well at the 2014 World Champs either. They only won two quotas there, one of which is no longer an Olympic event. They'll make up their quotas later at the continental and world cup events

It's obvious that the Indians have discovered a new substance that slows the aging process, and they are using it to win medals in junior shooting...that's disgusting, I hope they are caught and banned!!!!!!!!

Wake up sheeple!!!!!!!!!!!!!

lol our girl in skeet missed a whooping 11 shots (!) today and dropped from 2nd to nowhere.

Silver lining for us is that USA qualified all 3 shooters for the final.

    • I`m a traditionalist and I like alpine skiing competitions in the morning hours, illuminated by the sun In ski jumping this is practically non-existentthis in contrast the early 21st century (It's nice that at least there's Planica at the end of every season). There are also traditional competitions under artificial lights, like in Schladming or Madonna di Campiglio. There's no need to do the same thing everywhere as in ski jumping. Alpine skiing finals are rarely super exciting, because usually everything is clear and the skiers are tired from the long season. Finals were often canceled, so this year it was okay for me. If someone wanted a spectacle, that's what the Olympics Games or the World Cup in Kitzbuchel.

    • Baffling scheduling again. It's like FIS want to drive people away.    It's the Finals, on paper your big conclusion to the season, yet it feels like "let's get this over with". Just compare how the ATP treat their finals with this.   Ok, you want to have the GS & SL on Tuesday/Wednesday. That's fine, i've been advocating for more mid-week starts to begin with. But why, oh why do you have them in the middle of the day, on a work week.  Why aren't you having them in the evening, in prime time, when people are off work. Make it a big special event, which people want to visit and not during the day in front of a 100 fans. It's not that hard to choose a place with some floodlights.     And even this week we don't have Champion League football, so the night is free from big competition. Perfect opportunity to have alpine skiing on TV right now, but noooo.
