Sport funding in Lithuania have multiple layers from both central and regional government bodies, therefore this is just the first portion of funding.

 

Interestingly enough, it was announced that all official funding for Judo were cut down to 0, due inadequate use of previous funding and arguments within Lithuanian Judo Federation. There were multiple articles surrounding disagreements within Judo community in Lithuania as multiple breakaway Judo federations started to operate in the country. Unfortunately this is only going to hurt the development of this sport even more...

 

Also no funding for Surfing, Skateboarding and inactive Luge, Skeleton and Bobsleigh federations. No funding for squash and floorball as national federations are not a part of Doping testing system. Wushu removed from funding list, might something to do with countries love for China... Loads of weird non-Olympic sports prioritised over Olympic federations.

 

Basketball loosing a lot of funding after failing to qualify for Tokyo, although further stages might increase the funding + all team sports will have additional fund distributed for team sport development (I know, funding system in Lithuania is very convoluted..)

Football seems to be hitting a new low in the country. From this year the funding will be just 632k $ . Imagine 400 times the population of Lithuania and still not a very drastic difference in the football funds. Tennis also seems to be slashed heavily. The federation was quite upset but I'm happy with the reason given - lack of appreciable performance. Imagine a nation where Football is below Sailing and Equestrian and cannot even compare with weightlifting or even have a thought of comparison with badminton, athletics etc

The Uruguayan parliament approved its 2023/2024 budget. The Olympic Committee, National Sports Secretary, and Uruguay Sports Foundation will get a combined $UY 100 million (US$ 2.5 million) each of the next two years.

That's a lot of sports without funding. We even have medal chances in some of them. At the very least we should qualify athletes in the majority of the non-funded sports. Perhaps some will see something next year since Olympic qualification will be in full swing.

 

I've always been of the opinion that each sport should get some kind of base level funding. Like if they can give taekwondo $57k they can give the others something like 25k-50k a year. It would at least help pay for travel costs to Olympic qualifiers/World Championships.

The Argentine government says that the total public budget for sports is 4 billion pesos (or US$ 25 million by the official exchange rate).
