Looks like the rebel offensive in Syria has within two weeks resulted in Assad being ousted from power and gone, that escalated quickly. Does kind of look like the new thing is one of those extremist sharia "disagree with our strict morals and it's the death penalty for you" kind of groups, so...hopefully that's not the reality, but I guess we'll see.

Things happened too fast, surprised everybody. the future is so unpredictable. so far these groups are trying to act properly but so did Taliban at first. we will see their true color in next few weeks/months.

Bashar Asad was a murderer and criminal but he wasn't extremist. these guys can be both murderer and extremist. but there are lots of groups involved. still it's not totally clear who will get the power ultimately. it's highly possible to see a war between these groups

Turkey is sponsoring some (most) of these groups, so the future will be hard for the Kurds too. Turkey will push these groups to conquer the Kurdish parts too.

but I think the regime in Iran was the biggest loser here, they spent billions of dollars (at least 30 according to rumors) to keep this piece of crap in power. he was supposed to pay it back someday. now they have to rethink their strategy, everything if falling apart for them. (which is not necessarily a bad thing to be honest)

anyway it was a very hard few years for the Syrian people and the future doesn't look brighter. I just hope I'm wrong and something good comes out of this. :pope: maybe these guys have really changed :dunno: Syrian people suffered a lot already.

Justin Trudeau has resigned as party leader and will resign as prime minister of Canada once the Liberal Party choses a new leader. Once a new leader in selected there will likely be elections shortly after.

Is voluntary euthanasia out of the question?  Is there a petition to sign, au moins?

State spending creates prosperity to the same extent injecting drugs improves nursing skills.

    • I think the reason is that it's generally preferable to have a fast shooter in the 1st leg, and especially in the prone shooting, where Hofer is quite slow.   Now, I'm not saying I agree with the choice, because I don't. I think it's going to neutralize Giacomel's skiing skills in the 1st lap at least.   I guess the idea is to try and set a very fast pace in the 1st leg, which is usually quite tactical, but I'm afraid that's going to force Giacomel to risk too much because he will feel he has to make some time somehow.   Regardless, Italy must be on the podium tomorrow. I think that would be crucial for the following races as well. I think France is the clear favorite, but the other teams are not stronger than Italy on paper.
