[OFF TOPIC] Politics Thread

Yup, Americans got the hell out and tried to sell this as "not a failure". What a load of crap indeed. No wonder nobody in the Middle East buys this democracy thing at all. Americans wasted 20 years building democracy in Afghanistan and managed to accomplish absolutely nothing. Ho-Chin Minh is probably laughing in his grave

New and totally unexpected topic in Slovak parliament, we have a weed war :d

MEP of the PS (Progersivne Slovensko) Tomáš Valášek presents his own proposal for the decriminalization of marijuana in Slovakia. Parliament should discuss it at the November part-session. In addition to this amendment, MEPs will discuss a proposal to reduce severe penalties for Marijuana possession, which were introduced by MEPs from the leading Coalition parties. Valášek comes up with a proposal that would decriminalize the storage of marijuana for personal consumption up to the amount of 60 grams of the substance...dear lord , or the cultivation of five pieces of plants.

According to the press release of Progressive Slovakia, the current legal regulation punishes people who are not dangerous for society with heavy penalties.

Which is a fact the pain for using and posession of Marijuana is in Slovakia currently the highest in Europe. You can basically finish in prison for longer time than for a murder lol. For possession of more than 3 "doses" you are punishable from 10 to 25 years. :p

All parties (except the Neo-Nazis) basically agreed with the reducing penalties proposals and should vote for it this month, now on the decriminalization, but I feel like this can happen only when elephants will fly above the Tatras lol

That does sound like an excellent change though :cheer:

Prison sentences simply for possessing a bit of weed is madness...especially when tobacco or alcohol is fine.

  • 2 weeks later...

BBC (aka constitution of democracy) declares it's a clear murder but manipulated and corrupt judges and jurors announced he's innocent. So let's welcome to the world of arbitrary murders. No one's gonna save and liberate the poor Americans by bombing their houses? At least sanction those officials!

    • Not in modern times (believe it has happened back in the 19th century). The Social Democrats were rather close in the mid-30s, but generally it's been the Social Democrats as the largest getting challenged by either Venstre (the old, liberal party) or the Conservatives (though their latest peak was in the 80s). Keep in mind that most Danish governments have been minority governments. The latest government (well, it's still the government until the new one is formed) was the first one since the early 90s and only the 5th since the Second World War.
