It's not confirmed yet but people had asked them to deny this and they haven't done so yet.

 

That would probably be both a little painful and a relieve. At least it'll avoid another debacle like that German whose name I forgot who went batshit crazy in Tokyo.

Because we need two triathlons. This one also featuring some weird fencing and some cheesy wannabe biathlon sections.

 

Not to mention how cycling never was and never will be a military-associated activity. This sport is done.

Why do we need a triathlon with fencing and laser shooting added to it? There is 0 point...

While removing the riding portion may make the sport more accessible, adding cycling is a poor choice as it doesn't have much military roots plus as others have mentioned, it would bring the sport too close to triathlon. Something along the lines of archery or a hand-to-hand combat sport (wrestling?) would be more applicable.

Hopefully this means Paris 2024 is the last time this sport is in the Olympics. Tradition is the only reason this sport even exists, you remove riding and you lose that.
