Didn't look through everything but some sports including triathlon and tennis are moving from their usual spots on the schedule.

Seven team sports along with canoe slalom will start before the opening ceremony

Here are the major differences (not including the new sports or the removal of breaking).

 

Moved from Week 1 to Week 2

Archery

BMX Freestyle

Swimming

Tennis

 

Moved from Week 2 to Week 1

Modern Pentathlon

 

Expanded from Week 2 to both Weeks 1 & 2

Athletics (most events were moved from Week 2 to Week 1)

 

Shrunk from both Weeks 1 & 2 to Week 1

Also Rugby 7s being a day one medal continues from Paris, for the same reason (the venue being shared with another sport, this time archery).

So i guess water polo will switch to a format with 3 groups of 4 and then quarter finals, with no more placement matches. And either the women's or the men's finals will probably be the day after the semis without a rest day.

The golf schedule looks... Interesting (but I guess they're just missing the medal session on day day 8?

 

Not a big fan of all football semis the same stadium. That schedule on day 11 does especially feel like a recipe for disaster if it goes into extra time and penalties.

Haven't looked at full schedule yet, but anything that splits the programme more evenly and longer is a big plus for me. Full 3 weeks is a must and hopefully something soon.
