Swimming Portion of LA 2028 Olympics Will Remain at 9 Days; Will Award Final Games Medals

 

 

Organizers of the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games have released the daily competition schedule to mark three years out of the opening ceremonies in SoFi Stadium, which will later be converted to a swimming venue.

 

The news confirms the swimming dates from July 22 through July 30, which will include awarding the last medal events of the Games between 3:00-4:30 PM local time, before the Closing Ceremony at 6:00 PM at the Los Angeles Coliseum.

I think I like this schedule.

 

Generally no swimming and athletics finals in the same time on days when they do both.

Also almost no artistic gymnastics and swimming/athletics finals in the same time either.

 

Generally - there are finals all over each days, different hours - from morning till evening. This is good, sth will be going on all days long. Not like everything's going on at the same time.

 

The biggest problem for me is obviously a time difference, i am +9 hrs here. But whatever.

 

Now waiting for a leak from an Austrian Olympic Committee or sth with the detailed times for all the events, like it happened before heh

I wonder if they start with W rugby 7s or M rugby 7s. US is stronger in W, so...

 

They switched diving events - individual events first, then synchro

 

And it's interesting which athletics events finals will be there in LA morning sessions. 

 

But on day 1 probably M or W 10k and maybe M shot put...

Tennis schedule is a bit strange. Starting in the middle of Week 1 and ending on day 14. 

This means the players will have to skip full two weeks from ATP/WTA circuit, so unfortunately maybe more of them will like to skip olympics instead.

 

This strange new mixed artistic gymnastics event on day 11 i guess.

Good point, i did not notice it before, that athletics is not in evening. Interesting. What about weather in LA? Will not be too hot for athletes?
