:POL Natalia Kaczmarek

Well, it's a long list of athletes I'd like to do well. If I'd have to choose a top 5, on the top of my head:

🇪🇸 Carolina Marin winning another gold medal in badminton.

🇸🇮 Tadej Pogacar winning the road race.

🇺🇲 Katie Ledecky doing a 4 peat in the 800 and tying Latynina's gold medal record.

🇨🇺 Mijain Lopez winning another gold medal to challenge Milo of Croton 🤓

🇵🇱 Iga Swiatek and Novak Djokovic gold in tennis singles and 🇪🇸 Nadal-Alcaraz in doubles.

In athletics, cheering for Eliza McCartney, Femke Bol, Shelly-Ann Fraser, Eva Swoboda, Andre de Grasse, Yaroslava Mahuchikh, Nicola Olyslagers, Sam Kendricks... To name a few.

In other sports, athletes like Lisa Carrington, Daria Bilodid, Sarah Sjostrom, Simona Quadarella, Kristof Milak, Kate Douglass and many others that I don't remember now 😋

And of course the latin american athletes and mostly the south american ones.

I cheer for :DEN because my dog is a Great Dane, but also for :GER because I love that country.

I am also fan of the following athletes:

:NOR Henny Reistad

:SWE Sarah Sjöström

:CAN Damian Warner

:ITA Gregorio Paltrinieri

:FRA Romane Dicko

I love Greece since childhood when my grandma used to read to me stories about the Olympian gods, so I'll always cheer for :GRE athletes

If the lights light up exactly at the correct moment, he was definitely first, since his light went on first. Not sure if those lights are 100% accurate though?

 Exact same reason.
I cheer for :GER in every sport as I have a GSD. He is my life, my best buddy & my companion :d
Apart from :IND & :GER athletes, I do like certain athletes/ teams.

Here are my first picks

Athletics

Patrizia van der Weken  :LUX

Lieke Klaver  :NED

Kevin Mayer  :FRA

Yaroslava Mahuchikh :UKR

Swimming

Diogo Ribeiro   :POR

Ah yeah, :USA Grant Holloway! He'd very much deserve the gold based on performances of course, but also he always comes across super friendly and 'sportsmanlike', plus he isn't one of those big stars who feels the need to avoid almost any competition, so we often get to see him in action.

I'd find a medal for :BOT Letsile Tebogo really cool as well, especially so short after he lost his mother. Less unique, but still nice would be :BAH Steven Gardiner, because his running style is just....well, absolute perfection.

    • This might be the stupidest thing I’ve ever read and the complaints by Uhlander are ridiculous and unjustified just because the decision benefits Canada and not her and it’ll lessen her odds of making the Olympics    Since when are other countries supposed to look out for you?

    • 23 british parliament have signed to ban USA from the next world cup and many international events     Now, 23 politicians from Labour, the Lib Dems, Green Party and Plaid Cymru have signed a motion, external in parliament, calling on international sporting bodies to consider expelling the US from major international competitions, including the World Cup.   https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/articles/c2051p7ej1vo
    • And again more winter sports in the leadup to the Olympics, also some AO, although time dependent    If Mboko makes it to the final in Adelaide, then I'll probably add it.    Jan 15 11:30am: Moguls WC Waterville   Jan 16 12:30am/2:15am: Skeleton WC Altenberg - Women's  10:30am: Dual Moguls WC Waterville 9:00pm: Snowboard Cross WC Dongbeiya   Jan 17 2:45am: PGS WC Bankso 4:20am: Freestyle Ski Slopestyle WC Laax 9:00pm: Snowboard Cross WC Dongbeiya   Jan 18 2:45am: PGS WC Bankso 4:30am: Snowboard Slopestyle WC Laax   Jan 20 1:30am/4:30am: Alpine Skiing GS WC Kronplatz

    • that's basically last year's IA Division Worlds roster the only new name is Finoro so, the names might well be there
    • I will do my best to organise a pairs competition also involving nations from the 4 teams that are eliminated in the first half of the team competition along with the lowest ranked individual nations at the halfway point (end of session 2) to form 8 pairs. Pairs will be balanced so that the highest ranked nation in the competition will be paired with the lowest ranked nation, second highest with the second lowest and so on. All of that will be based on the individual ranking at the halfway point.   This way every nation will have at least interest in some event until the end of the 3rd session.   I will probably base it closely on @mrv86‘s proposed rules, and have sprints every 3 rounds of votes. The pairs with most medals from those 3 rounds get the points along with an extra bonus for medal and points doubles.   I do only have 1 day to organise this now so I can’t promise anything though.
