[OFF TOPIC] Coronavirus Pandemic

Recommended Posts

according to highway Police yesterday at the start of "holidays" there were more than a million cars (to be accurate 1,112,000) on the roads between cities. 50% decrease comparing to the same time last year but still that's huge  which means something like 3 or 4 millions had traveled in one day.

yayyy . long live Corona

The Danish parliament is set to vote (laws set in place to help the during the situation). However they can only be 7 at a time in the chamber meaning quite a bit of queueing outside the chamber (luckily most understand the distance)

As for Poland, we now have a total of 305 cases, including 5 deaths.

My favourite Volleyball position: LIBERO. You ask why? Look here. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZyIOarNAONk

Things changed very quickly in past few weeks. I think two months ago nobody expected us to be in this situation right now, I was reading some news, interviews and reactions from February and this one caught my attention :d  this is from 31 January.

Are you people going to work?

Until the organization where I go to decided to close the exam center where I work, yes (which they did two days ago). I had my second 'interview' for a new - my first real - potential job today (first a three month try-out basically, both for them and for me to see if we're a good fit) and much like last week's first one, that went very well - nice, calm, friendly, positive conversation.

They still have to work, because it's a big psychological care institute basically, and psychological patiens don't just think "oh, coronavirus, let's not need care for a while". No idea when I'll start yet :p

Only today in Chile we had 132 new cases, we are in complete isolation and with militars on street and controlling the government. I think we are in a awful situation right now.

    • This is going to have an effect on very likely 0 athletes, possibly 1 or 2 we don't really know about yet. It's really mostly the cheapest possible way for them to make a sort of political statement, without having any significant backlash since it won't really affect anyone at the top level of international sports.   Edit: worded a bit wrong, I was thrown off by everywhere 'trans women' being mentioned as the target of this. Of course there is also the somewhat larger category of DSD and the likes, which will certainly affect a few athletes - unfortunately they are often thrown under the bus or mentioned as 'not really women anyway' or something like that, despite, you know, being.
    • Mary Rand has died aged 86. The first British woman to win a Gold in track and field at the 1964 Tokyo Games (where she also took home a further two medals in the Women’s 4x100m relay and Pentathlon).
    • Athing Mu competed in the USA trials in 2024 and 2025 post the 2023 rule changes. She also won Gold in 2022 and Bronze in 2023.    Jelimo the jury is out. She doesn’t look male like the other two do.
    • People focus on trans people because it's easier to pinpoint the affected athletes. Meanwhile it's the athletes with (suspected) DSDs that will have tougher time to convince the authorities and the public opinion that they belong to women's sports.
    • badminton queen Carolina Marin announced that she can't take part into the home Europeans in the upcoming weeks because of her injured knee and calls it a career 😭
    • yes, there are (or there was, at least) don't forget that the women's 800m had world and olympic champions like Semenya, Jelimo and Nyonsaba...basically, it was 10 years of DSD winners only the same Athing Mu was suspected to be DSD (never confirmed, but somehow she totally disappeared after Tokyo) then, there were the 2 girls from Namibia (1 won a medal over 200m in Tokyo) in Italy we have the living scandal Valentina Petrillo (a paralympian!!!), who's actually a real man not to mention the weightlifter from who took part into the Tokyo Games so, it's a real problem all around the globe, not just a US crusade against a few woke idiots
