I find it interesting that a) You admire Schröder for giving up politics to earn a shitload of money (although Merkel killed his political career before that) b) You admire Merkel c) You think that Merkel is actually trying to „fix“ Europe None of this has anything to do with athletics, so maybe we should wrap this up. I actually don't admire Merkel at all. Her politics would have made me vote for SPD if I was a German even though I never vote for left-wing parties, she's that bad

OlympicIRL 4,771 Posted July 24, 2020 #186 Share Posted July 24, 2020 Wow, Ciara Mageean just broke the Irish 800m women’s NR tonight in Bern. 1:59.69 mins. What a way to come out of lockdown!
CCB 455 Posted July 25, 2020 #187 Share Posted July 25, 2020 In the 400 meter competition in Bern two of our youngest athletes posted personal bests: Femke Bol 51,13 and Lieke Klaver 51,39. With Lisanne de Witte (PB 50,85) we now have three very promising 400 meter-runners. Such a pity the best one, Madiea Ghafoor, is in jail for drugs sale. Otherwise we would have a really competitive 4x400 relay team.

Grassmarket 2,766 Posted July 31, 2020 #189 Share Posted July 31, 2020 Looks like a very good meet coming up on Saturday from Trieste. Lots of big names in action, some for the first time this year. Werloc 3,127 Posted July 31, 2020 #190 Share Posted July 31, 2020 This Saturday/Sunday, the Baltic U18 and U20 championships are going to take place in Estonia, the best Lithuanian, Latvian and Estonian athletes born from 2001 to 2004 are going to fight against each other and themselves to make their PBs and show who will be more than capable to qualify in the European Championships U18, U20, U23 in 2021. Usually most of these Baltic events are scheduled after the big event of the year for that age group, this year though, it's the most important start for some of the athletes, perhaps barring the Lithuanian Championships that are held next weekend.
