But I'm not completely sure. yes, Seb Coe recently said they can't do without their top stars, therefore a place for Olympic and World Champions will always be reserved through wild cards if necessary (as long as they don't steal a place from any teammate, of course) Josh
Olympian1010 7,556 Posted August 4, 2023 #62 Share Posted August 4, 2023 Some welcome rule/competition format changes here (mostly for the better in my opinion). maestro, dullard, Styrka and 4 others 7 “Sport has the power to change the world. Not entirely convinced, the middle/long distances qualification will be now only on positions and not time rule is a good idea. Now when everyone will know that only top 6 qualify, and times from previous heats do not count, we can have some really slow long heats/semifinals runs, since everyone will save energy only for the finish... We are seeing these in FISU this week. Some VERY slow starts. Will predict now that “running under protest” will be a complete mess. Monzanator 3,619 Posted August 4, 2023 #65 Share Posted August 4, 2023 Yeah, all the middle distance heats & SF will be run at funereal pace then before the usual mad dash with 200 meters to go Josh
Vektor 3,196 Posted August 5, 2023 #66 Share Posted August 5, 2023 You can thank the Gods that the Worlds aren't held in the first half of August here, it might as well be another Aquatics Worlds for us instead of Athletics. I mean, the situation is nowhere near as bad as in Slovenia, but still, it's constantly raining, it's windy, it's cold. The worst weather I have seen in August in recent years. There was a huge storm in Budapest last night. Hopefully it will get better in the second half of August. Adriano

Damn I would take any non-lethal rainy day over that If you'd like to help our fellow Totallympics member Bruna Moura get to the 2026 Winter Olympics, after her car crash on the way to the 2022 Olympics, every tiny bit of help would be greatly appreciated!
