So apparently the IAAF accepted and send a request to the IOC to get women's 50km in the 2020 olympics. The girls are positive it would get added to the games.

Source of that information?

I am unashamed, at getting nothing done.

I still think it's too early to get all that done less than two years before the Olympics...it can't be good for the event to have a repeat of last year's world championships....where there was almost zero competition between the not even 10 participants.

To be fair, the Europeans this year were already much different.

It was a bit better, yes, but still not what one would call very competitive...it didn't have the excitement the men's race usually have. As a fan of the event, I'd very much prefer to see it on the Olympic program in 2024, so it has a few more championships to become worthy of an Olympic event.

The IOC should not accept it, it's way past the deadline for proposing new events. Adding it now would only be a gift for a handful of women who are not among the very best race walkers in the world but have found a way to get a good result at the Olympics. It's good for Paris 2024 (but only if the IAAF accepts to use technology, otherwise race walking should be deleted from the programme).

World race walking cup in China was pretty good, even better than europeans

This is also the first time I've ever heard of both 'Games makers' and 'Passion Crew'.

    • It's hard to believe it was still in this calendar year
    • In last year, we were were happy with Brignone's wins, and today we're excite that della Mea is in the top 10... It's hard to imagine a bigger fall... And Goggia should give up on the giant slalom and focus on the speed events – Vonn isn't wasting time on the giant slalom, but is training for downhill and SG. Goggia last one finished on the podium in the giant slalom in march 2018, and she has no any chance of winning an Olympic medal at the regular competition. It's a waste of time and energy to finish 8th or 9th and risk injury. And we have to accept that without Brignone, we have no chance of winning a medal in the giant slalom in Cortina, and that's it.
    • yeah, just like Anna Trocker earlier Today   I think this is the best way to blow them    they're not ready for the world cup stage yet, but we're so bad right now that our coaches are digging deep
    • Some surprises and fun results so far at this year's Worlds. Like a few minutes ago, when  Harrysson made the 1/8 with another very good performance. Now he plays Jonny Clayton, who this afternoon made a stellar performance in a tough battle with Zonneveld. I don't see an easy match for Clayton, even though on paper he would have wished such an opponent for a 1/8 before the tournament.   Also i'm delighted that my fav Gary Anderson seems to be in good form, though at his age, he is prone to sudden bad matches at any time.
