1) At least Johaug and Sundby were banned, something we would never see in biathlon.

2) How is Tandrevold supposed to dominate? Its not like she is super fast in cross-country, more like a bit above average. Wierer, Vitozzi, Dahlmeier, Davidova and so on are all on the same level.

Johaug & Sundby got banned for their stupidity.

Tora Berger didn't dominate at 23 either. If Tandrevold becomes the best shooter of the team she can only improve her skiing. After all, these Norwegians are always pretty good on skis. Maybe only Solemdal of the current team is weaker but everyone else is top notch and Tandrevold will get there as well IMO.

When Davidova drops the junior breathing technique she will become a major force as well.

Okay, just got caught up with biathlon.

WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON??????????????? Natalija Kočergina with a PB of 27th place and clean 0+0 shooting, probably in the most underwhelming biathlon season for Lithuanian women in the past 10 years :yikes: I am utterly shocked and very pleasantly surprised at the same time, especially after the very mediocre start in the mixed relay. If Natalija can do it, I'll have a bit more faith in our men's team as well now. I am extremely proud of this result :LTU

@Werloc is 27th enough for government funding? Lol

Not individual funding, but this should add some points to the biathlon pool though ;) Still, this 27th place and shooting is completely out of nowhere

Hard to believe, but this was really the first ever world champion title for Nastya Kuzmina, the only female biathlete to win Olympic golds at 3 consecutive Olympics never won a world championship, she finally did it in her last careers season at 34. Now she has only 1 dream remaining, to fulfill before the end of the season and career a perfect 20/20 shooting she never achieved yet in her long and extremely successfull career.

After Petra Vlhová in Are Giant Slalom last month, 2nd :SVK Winter (Olympic event) sport World Champion.

Bravo Nastya !

Clair Egan does well with a 1+0 and +33.3 11th place.  Joanne Reid goes 0+0 with +50.1.  Dunklee goes 2+2 to finish 58 +2:30.

Two in the top 15 is a great result.

Indeed. Met Clair’s mom at the World Cup. I’m can guarantee she is very proud of her daughter

@ahjfcshfghb Yup, we needed a top 32 for that sweet sweet biathlon funding, so the federation started their celebrations already

Fantastic! Now all you have to do is have your men get revenge on the Latvians for the mixed relay ;)

    • I used public transit the entire time I was in Milan.   My first day was a doozy, because I had to two flights to reach Malpensa, and then the train into town was delayed, and then I got confused a station and boarded a tram instead of the metro, proceeded to travel in the wrong direction, got off, walked back to the station, found the metro, got off a station early, walked around a kilometer to my hotel, and checked in.   My colleagues mostly took cabs upon arrival, but I deduced to take the frugal approach. That said, I was a true public transit professional by the time I left Milan.   I actually enjoyed my rides to and from venues, because I'd just chat up fans and volunteers from different countries. It helped me learn more about the city too.
    • It's the olympics, sleep is for the weak!    The first day i got there i was on a 12 hour flight from l.a to rome (flight that left mid day), lay over, another flight to milan, uber to hotel, then right away to speed skating (1500m men), then after uber to hockey venue for women's gold final, then after the celebrations uber to the hotel, i ended up being awake about 36 hours that day, the next morning i thought to go sightseeing in the center of milan, but ended up sleeping until like 2pm..... and had speed skating/short track that night
    • I tried to get onto the metro multiple times and gave up    I had just arrived the day of from Bangkok (12 hr flight) and was just exhausted and wanted to sleep
    • Plus, you missed out on a potential metro ride with me, which is quite priceless in my opinion
    • My hotel was very close to Rho so was easy to get there, but it was so far from the hockey venue that after the women's gold medal match it was so expensive to get back, and also the next day after the usa slovakia semis it took forever, the asshole driver took the city and not the freeway
    • Uber cost me $224 CAD to get back to the hotel from the OC. It basically prevented me from buying tickets to a speed skating session
    • Romania's national team coach, Mircea Lucescu, has died half an hour ago He was in hospital since March 30th, just before the friendly match against Slovakia. Unbelievable how the life can have such turns...in March 26th he was in Istanbul playing the WC qualifying play-off vs Turkiye and now he died.    Thank you very much for every moments you bring us in your huge career (he's on 3rd place in a most trophies won in career, after Ferguson and Guardiola) and may your soul rest in peace, Mr. Lucescu.
