Monzanator 3,859 Posted October 25, 2022 #21 Share Posted October 25, 2022 No way they're moving the NA races before the Thanksgiving weekend IMO. Early December dates in Europe were also often compromised, it just so happens that most countries have the best winter conditions around the same time. You can stage races in March in the arctic parts of Sweden, Finland and Norway. As for expanding the calendar, well, as long as Shiffrin doesn't retire US TV might be interested in carrying the coverage. If only she hangs it up then I can see a World Cup calendar with zero NA races.

FIS's idea for a new Grande opening to the WC is going, going, gone... Cervinia_Zermatt has been cancelled for both men (this week) and women (next week). No freaking snow anywhere? I am starting to feel that we may be able to see even 2-3 weekends at one spot. Not only talking about Alpine Skiing.

Mammoth Mountain (the one regularly used on the free ski/snowboard tour) has already opened for the season after getting some early season snow. It usually opens around this time anyway. “Sport has the power to change the world. It has the power to inspire.
