oh come on, it was on the cheek, maybe too longer than it should be, but still just a friendly cheeky kiss. People are so purist nowadays :p

but, if he would do that to my niece, I would kill him :p

Don't think that was the kiss that was the issue as it happened before she had picked up the trophy.

The team were congratulated by the Queen and then moved on to Rubiales - who it has to be said, was very "affectionate" with all the squad - but Hermoso was the only one who ended up with his hands on the back of her head and pulled in for full-on lip smacker.

If she has a problem with it, she should express it/speak out herself.

Because that worked out so well for Spanish players last time

This news story doesn't seem to be dying down any time soon - Spanish government have started legal proceedings to suspend Rubiales.

I don't understand the outrage. Do we know that the player didn't want it/have a problem with it? Why do people feel the need to feel insulted on behalf of others? If she has a problem with it, she should express it/speak out herself.

Yes, we know, because she released a statement to that effect.

81 players have so far announced they will not play for the national team whilst Rubiales remains in post - they're quite a militant lot these Spanish footballers

This includes every player who played at the World Cup.

Everyone here who dismissed this as a minor issue or as being overblown really needs to do some serious soul searching imo.

Spanish coaching staff have resigned en-mass and Rubiales has been suspended by FIFA. In response, Spanish FA are threatening legal action against Hermoso. :facepalm:Has nobody told them that when you find yourself in a hole, you stop digging?

Kissing anyone without consent should be penalised. Rubiales should take full responsabillity and appologise.

I mean, i know that Spaniards are full of emotions but celebrating by kissing a player in the mouth??? Disgusting
