heywoodu 13,557 Posted October 7, 2019 #3931 Share Posted October 7, 2019 Slow motion cameras are all fun and well, they have nothing to do with race walking. It's about the naked eye. If you'd like to help our fellow Totallympics member Bruna Moura get to the 2026 Winter Olympics, after her car crash on the way to the 2022 Olympics, every tiny bit of help would be greatly appreciated! Well, it would be cheating if it was happening every second of the match. #banbestmen

Then they'd get yellow cards. Much like the warnings and eventual DQ's in race walking where, again, it's about the naked eye, not about whatever some slow motion camera shows. Tbh it means pretty nothing. dcro 1 I am unashamed, at getting nothing done.

I'm not a fan of it, agreed, but it is the rule. People looking at replays to point out something means even less. Olympian1010 7,477 Posted October 8, 2019 #3937 Share Posted October 8, 2019 (edited) The best thing for race walking would be...Keeping judges but not in their current form. I say we have 5 on-course judges and 5 replay judges (the replay judges must be from nations not entered in the event, or from countries that didn’t finish in the top 20). When a judge thinks an athlete is breaking a rule they call it in to the replay judges. Judges will watch the footage and determine if the athlete has broken the rule. If the athlete has broken the rule, a course judge will notify them with a card. Also, shoe chips would be worn to help supplement some “easier calls”, so judges can focus on more technical stuff. Totally agree with this opinion. If there is for example Italian judge and Italian race walker has chance to win medal, he might try to rule out the medal opponents of the Italian ...... And shoe chips would definitely help from cheating, no doubt. But I see the bigger problem in race walk in doping. Such as marathon runners.
