All I can say is: the ability to ignore some users does wonders for my mental health here.

Exactly. I don't ever watch those sports and in Tokyo I watched a little bit of both because there was nothing else going on

Completed. Surely most of us expected rhythmic gymnastics to go to the Russians but they won neither.

Best position ever for at the medal table (12th). Hoping for a record also at the Paralympics but it will be difficult (7th in 2012 is our best).

Gymnastics in general being responsible for some of the biggest shocks of Tokyo. Almost every contender that was 99% certain of winning the gold medal prior to the Games didn't win.

vinipereira got a reaction from George_D in Men's Football Tournament at the Summer Olympic Games 2020
I'm happy for the result, but it's the third consecutive Football final I was sleeping, although when I was in Rio it was very hard because people were celebrating like crazy (the whole city stopped to watch that match). It's just that stage of the Games in which I'm very tired to watch a 2h30 long event

Interesting enough, an european team doesn't win the men's tournament since 1992 (Spain). the champions since then.

After Day 15 Rio: 294/306 events, 87 NOCs with medals
After Day 15 Tokyo: 326/339 events, 93 NOCs with medals
Who would have thought that the race for 1st/2nd between China and the US is open until the very last day? 4th place between GB and Russia as well. Everything comes pretty much down to boxing, volleyball and track cycling. Japan with another huge day for them safely 3rd and Australia will finish 6th. The record number of nations winning at least one medal has grown to 93 today.
South Korea will find themselves out of the Top 10 this cycle.
India are having their most succesful Summer Olympics winning 7 medals, including a gold, surpassing the amount of total medals by one (6 medals 2012 in London). Norway might finish Top 20 for the first time since 2004 (5-0-1; 17th in Athens).
Brazil have become the second country (after GB) surpassing their medal winnings after hosting the previous Summer Games. On their best games, they finish with medals in the twenties range.
Very unsuccessful games for South Africa, going down from 10 medals in Rio to just 3 in Tokyo. One of which came from the new sport of surfing. Also, Ethiopia might not only finish behind Kenya but also behind Uganda this time.
