Olympian1010 reacted to OlympicsFan in [OFF TOPIC] Movies & TV Series Thread
I don't know what characterizes a show that is suited for a "nice late night watch" for you, but i enjoyed the first season a lot. I don't remember the last time i was so impressed by season 1 of any show. I think the actor who portrayed Shaun did a great job and i liked that Shaun wasn't depicted as some super-genius who never makes a mistake.

So far i have only watched season 1 of "The Good Doctor" and i can definitely recommend it. The same is true for the first 6 seasons of "New Girl", although it went a bit downhill after the first 2 seasons.

Well Lebanon is nearly 50/50 Christian/Muslim. They are also Christian Palestinians, and another minority religions (same goes for Syria).

There is a good chance that this is the most upset I’ve been in my life. I saying things that I am so going to regret tomorrow, but I’m so sick and tired of this country. This election will honestly improve nothing most likely (I mean, I hope it does, but I feel like that’s asking a lot). I’m so depressed right now.

That must have been a somewhat common immigration hub after their troubles. Gui Khury’s family is also Brazilian-Lebanese.

Yes/no, it depends. One sect of American Lutherans is, the other (which my dad’s family is) isn’t. Methodists are highly evangelical, but many have more moderate and even progressive views (at least in California). We don’t really have any Calvinists in California. Baptists and Adventists are the other major Protestant sects I can think of in the U.S. Mormons label themselves as Christians, but every other Christian church does not.
I’ve found Lutherans to be closest to the actual teachings of Jesus.
The only other religions where I see people live up to good morals teachings is Judaism (non-Haredi), Hinduism (most are peaceful), and Buddhism (the religion I’d be most open to trying). I will say that we have some awesome Muslim communities in the U.S. too, but they also have bad sects like Christians.

Enter the liquor market. Johnnie Walker Team Williams sound pretty good to me. Don't know how we haven't seen something like this already.

Of course it’s probably one of those special Norwegian skier-type suspensions that runs from April-September.

One of my TOC stages ever! Toms became my second favorite after Sagan because of his success in California. Plus, he came back from that horrific fall he suffered in years past.

Exactly, American evangelicals are more likely to deport Jesus than support him.

Yeah, I don’t think most evangelical Christians have read the Bible. As someone who has, even the boring ass books like Kings 2; it’s clear they missed its message. I’ve found most people involved in organization religion to be the most morally corrupt people.

Sometimes I wish “God’s plan” would be sending those people to hell. They’re mainly the only ones who qualify to be there.

Olympian1010 got a reaction from bmo in Which Sports Events are you Currently Watching?
I quite enjoyed watching some of the old Olympic ceremonies with y’all recently, and with the Olympics postponed, I’m little unsure of what to do this summer.
So I was thinking we could all chose a multi-sports to relive together. We could open a thread like “Relive: 2019 African Games” (this example is not possible, since almost no public footage exists, but you should get the point), and relive the games day by day, watching events according the schedule, and chatting like it’s live. If we were to do this (and I think it’d be a fun little thing to do as a community before sports begin again), I think we should choose a games where a lot of public footage is available (examples: 2015 European Games, 2016 Summer Paralympics, 2012 Summer Olympics, 2017 Summer Deaflympics, etc. (I can post a full list of options if wanted).
So what do y’all think?

I think I have quite a lot of stuff still to see of which I don't know the results yet, probably I'd just end up watching that (two years worth of MMA mainly)
If watching some replays of multi-sports events, for me it'd be about Olympics, probably 2012 or 2008 - Olympics that I have actually watched, but aren't so close anymore to still remember most things. A more useful/normal time of life is about to start though (you know, work and such), so I'm probably not gonna have a whole lot of time to spend 1-2 hours a day watching things I've already seen

NASA released a satellite photo of my town during the height of our Poppy bloom this spring
Actual photo is in much better quality, but all of the orange in wildflowers. Black squares are our vast solar farms. Our valley is really pretty in March and April, and then pretty much ugly for the rest of the year. We do have some unique topography, as you can tell from this photo. The town is at the bottom right of the picture, and much of it isn’t shown.
